Just got a text this morning from the PJA from tomorrow the fee is £145.44 for a NH ride and £106.55 for a flat ride. You dont get 10% of prizemoney anymore and havnt for a while. The scale ot percentages does slightly alter with the type of race and its value.

I’d be very interested to have a look at the prizemoney scale.

How about this card in the Jobcentre ?

" Applicants will be required to report for work at the crack of dawn, where they will be expected to ride out for no pay. The job involves many, many thousands of miles criss-crossing the UK (at your own expense) to ride no-hopers in far-flung two-bob races for ungrateful (and often downright deluded) owners. You will be required to maintain your weight at up to two stone less than is good for you. This position offers no holiday or sick pay, and no pension.

Applicants must be aware that death or serious injury are very possible on a daily basis.

£140 per ride + prize money"

    Any takers ?

Anyway, answer the question, re Alderbrook –

If he was parachuted in now, does anyone believe he wouldn’t win ?

    That’s aimed at you, TAPK.

But don’t Timeform have him at 174/175 or something ?

This sorry lot couldn’t achieve that with their tails on fire.

I’m a bit worried Kauto might get distracted by turning his head backwards to see if he can see box-neighbour Denman.

The very same Alderbrook that achieved Grp 2 success on the flat then went on to win the Champion Hurdle as a novice.

If he was parachuted in now, does anyone believe he wouldn’t win ? I think he’d eat this lot alive.

I was happy to see Crack Away Jack lose today. He is still my no.1 hope for the Arkle. He didn’t jump great today but I feel the ground would have been too soft and the race was a decent one. He was given a quietish ride by Noel Fehily and still think he’s the one I am with.

Its a fact that cheltenham festival form is a very key factor for each festival…and Crack Away Jack has that.

Doug, Crack away Jack has No Chance, absolutely No chance of winning the Arkle!Todays performance proved he is not a fencer! Somersby will jump and quicken away from them all!

    Somersby’s a big lad though, isn’t he ?
    They don’t win at Cheltenham.

I’ve just had £7 at 140 about Mikael D’Haguenet in the Champion Hurdle.

    Well, you never know.

I had £3 @ 199 for the QMCC months ago.

    I still feel silly.

The fact that Punjabi…Punjabi ! wears the crown says it all

I’d love for an Alderbrook to appear and take this race……..this division badly needs a shake-up.

Alderbrook!! That would lower the standard of Champions even further!

Now you’re talking silly. Even Alderbrook would eat this lot alive.

Gold Cup jockeys are already being discussed, with AP mooted as taking the ride on Denman.

Which makes Kauto an absolute shoo-in !

So, Celestial Halo or Binocular wins ?

    Really ?

Can I now just issue an appeal to all flat trainers?……..take a good look at your decent 10-12f horses, pop one or two of the more likely types over a hurdle or two……the 2010 Champion Hurdle is at your mercy!

Come and rescue this race from mediocrity !!

Kempton could honour Kauto Star with a statue, according to RP online.

Imagine if he wins a third Gold Cup – Cheltenham will have to follow suit. A fourth win in the Betfair Chase and maybe Haydock will honour him, too.

How many statues can one horse have? 8)

Racegoers will be hardly able to move !

Also, mares just DONT win Champion Hurdles.

Flakey Dove, Dawn Run……about as rarely as 5yos.
