    Matron,

This website is like an old London Bus, the 159 up to Trafalgar Square picking up loose ends on the back with the conductor swinging off the handle bars.

Classic model that leaves many good memories but seriously needs bringing into the 21st century.

As the first person to spot Darlan as a future champion outside Seven Barrows it comes as no surprise that I was left devastated by the tragic ending of such a promising life.

You’re probably reading too much into it.

What percentage of the Horse Racing community including general fans watch the BBC news? roughly about 60% upwards a general estimate.

Now if you were to reverse that and say how many of the BBC viewers actually watch Horse Racing? you’d be closer to the 1-2% mark.

It’s worthwhile reminding that Darlan had still a lot of work in front of him in becoming a household name and testament to the BBC who put the story out ahead of many other more pressing issues in society.

I do genuinely believe if a big household name like Kauto Star or Frankel (god forbid) had a similar accident then they would use the term horse as well.

Listen, we wanted more coverage of the sport externally and we’ve got it. It’s no time to start quivering over the word "horse" when someone finally shows us interest.

Ken opens the sentence with "Backed Rock on Ruby", disgusting imo.

I’ve made more this All Weather season than I have over the last 7 years on the Turf season.

You have to know when to play & how to play, the answer’s are not entirely written down all though about 68-78% are the rest is based on intuition & braveness, that’s what sets the likes of Professortrubshawe, GingerTipster, Darren823, Betlarges off this world from the likes of me, TAPK, Tom Segal, Hugh Taylor etc.

Ditch The Morning Line and find an evening slot on a Sunday for a review of the weeks action.

Yes they did "duck a challenge".

he went everywhere that a Champion 3 year old should go in Europe

    Really MH?
Didn’t turn up for both Irish Derby and King George. Doubtful he’d have run in the Arc either had in been soft/heavy. Sea The Stars ran where the ground was right for him. Simple as that.

Quiet clearly he didn’t run "where" the ground was right for him, I believe there are a few G2 & G3 in his three year old campaign that had fast conditions they could of gone for instead unless you believe John Oxx can control the weather and I wouldn’t put it past you to actually believe that.

The win in The Eclipse defined his legacy and was more than anything he could of achieved in a King George or Irish Derby.

Yes they did "duck a challenge".

There was no challenge that John Oxx ducked, he went everywhere that a Champion 3 year old should go in Europe and was taken on by the best horses available with Ballydoyle engineering tactics to get him beat but he over come them.

He was exceptional, he proved everything as a three year old and didn’t have to race on as an older horse.

Excellent show today but I thought Simon lacked enthusiasm for the topic maybe it’s just his character? but this show was tailor made for someone like John McCririck who puts his heart and soul into what he felt with recalling his memory of great racehorses and it gives a viewer like me who wasn’t around in those days to understand what it meant for some people.

I find it quite funny ( with due respect and deference to your good self, TAPK.. naturally  ) that the self proclaimed " king of foresight " didn’t have the foresight to see how brilliant a horse Frankel would turn out to be.

When you have your head stuck up your backside for most of the day I suppose it’s forgivable to miss a thing or two.

Thwack, whack, trumpety trump. Thwack, whack, bing bang bosh.

The sound of Gordon banging his little drum.

    It all began…….

back when Frankel was a 2 year old. Poor old Gord had him down as all hype!  Thought he would get trounced in the Dewhurst by Dream Ahead    The Ante Post King didn’t back the biggest Ante Post Snip this century. The man who prides himself on spotting talent from an early age completely missed the most obvious one there has ever been

Then when Frankel put DA in his place Gord told us with supreme confidence that he was just a precocious 2 year old whose bubble would burst

Then when he blasted away his rivals in the most exhilirating fashion any of us have seen he told us that his temperament was going to let him down sooner or later

Then when he continued to produce staggering performance after staggering performance poor old Gord started running out of ways to save face and so started this "he never won over a mile and a half" drum that he will bang to the day he dies.

It is the biggest misjudgement of his racing life but rather than just taking it on the chin or leaving the forum as the other doubters have done, he continues to embarrass himself. Your heavy going comment is pathetic and not worthy of you. You are better than that mate. I would not believe you of all people could have the gall to write it especially after what you said the days after that epic and heroic Champion Stakes win over the mud machine CDA.

Frankel proved himself beyond question but you will never accept it because your enormous ego will not allow it.

You are a great guy Gord and this is not in the least bit personal but why don’t you just finally give it a rest for chrissake?!

All three handicappers now agree with what the owner of Dancing Brave has always known. As wonderful as that magnificent Harwood beast was he was not as good as the Wonderhorse.

Excellent post Jonni, I couldn’t agree more!

I believe one of the quotes that will have you in stitches

To all those dreaming about Frankel winning next years 2000gns,

    Dream Ahead

! This fellow has everything you want to see in a 3yo that Frankel lacks! 2/1 Frankel, 6/1 Dream Ahead,i know which one i would be on!

I see Ladbrokes have reacted yet again to market forces surrounding my ‘Supreme’ horse

    My Tent or Yours

albeit about as quick as Razor Ruddock shaving his chinny chin chins! They now go 12/1 about what will be 6/1 on the day so again there’s e/w value in the price and I can see him putting it down to his owners new purchase ‘Jezki’.(7/2fav). Its a race I love and always have and it looks like being a cracking start to the festival if these pair turn up!

Let’s hope it runs better than Dursey Sound,

    if

, it runs in The Supreme.

A pretty uncompromising use of statistics there Coggy! you’re assumptions are meaningless in the realms of reliability or validity in providing a significant construct now that’s not to say I don’t appreciate you making the effort as it’s encouraging to see people do their research to further strengthen their posts through association of relevant information.

There’s multiple reasons why King has seen a 6.7% reduction in Chase wins or why there is a 2% increase in Hurdle wins but I wouldn’t be so sure it’s down to his ability to train one better than the other.

The cross comparison of hurdles and chase achievements to determine the superior riding preference or ability of one code over the other is probably the most absurd things I’ve ever read on here.
