I think Jed Barlett would make and excellent president and his Chief of Staff Leo McGarry also doubles as a racehorse.
US Politics to Horse Racing in one easy link.
Seriously I do believe that due to the much tighter schedule for the Primaries we won’t see any candidates coming from 11th and the big MO will be less of a factor which counts against Edwards.
For the Democrats this only leaves Clinton/Obama which I believe will be the Dems ticket come fall ’08
IMO the GOP can only win the general election by nominating Guiliani which they will not do unless he flips on several of the big issues. I predict a dog fight will break out leaving an unelectable candidate and a Democratic controlled Congress and Whitehouse.
PS. then maybe Uncle Sam and Big Tony willl stop sticking pins in maps as we look for the next country to start a war with. They could instead start sticking pins in the RP for a winner.

Forgot to post Teofilo and Rainbow Promises are the ones I’m looking forward to early doors.
I like the Triple Crown idea Corm.
We have just seen jump racings triple crown won and the massive bonus that goes with it. In the States the Triple Crown is all people talk about from the minute the Derrrby winner passes the post. Oh and the £5million bonus that is up for grabs.
Why do we not care for a triple crown (Corm apart) for our flat season.
Hi all, firstly I offer my apologies if I have offended anyone. I do genuinely believe the offer was worth sharing.
I would be interested in the commercial folder idea, obviously depending on price and how many hits the folder gets.
I would be more inclined to pay a premium if TRF days out were at the lovely tracks of Yorkshire.
I’m going Gold Cup. I forsee KS 6 lengths clear as the last approaches with BOS, The Listener and Exotic Dancer fighting for second. KS blunders the last after jumping foot perfect all the way round. Ruby stays onboard, defying the laws of gravity only to see the hill infront of him. All 4 horses head to the line together…… race of the meet definetly

Please see the thread on Tom Schudamore if you wish to comment on Danny’s spelling/grammar.
Mounty you Schmuck, you schould have had the house and the schwimming pool on.
If KS wins at the festival and then comes out next year and wins all again he will be remembered as one of the greatest. ie. winning at various courses over different trips on various grounds.
Best Mate although winner of 3 Gold Cups, most people agree BM cannot be given this accolade. What is frustrating is that BM never got the chance to prove how good he was.
Well, Scoop 6 went down as Flying Enterprise could not carry the burden of all my expectation.
As my second choice which for reasons still unknown does not appear in my Scoop gets up.
Commiserations to the punter whose £2 line went down on leg 6 – it would have been some investment. Still all to play for next week!

I will be cursing Flying Enterprise by adding it to my Scoop 6 for this race. I also Danny like the ew chance of Madison Du Berlais.
Surely racing from Dubai can be no worse than the AW fare in the UK at this time of year. From the quality point of view World Cup night is rivalled only by the BC imo.
Seeing the best horses in a quality packed cards is what it’s all about. So I think credit to the creators whatever your opinions are on Goldophin etc.
As with most of the Channel 4 team, Alastair Down is either loved or loathed. (or is that just Thommo).
I agree a good piece. I particularly look forward to AD’s daily reviews at the festival on C4.
I believe his odds were based on the Lexus form.
I was told before his last outing he would come on for the race.
I feel if the ground is too soft and the pace is relentless he will struggle to get home at Cheltenham.

I am going for The Listener if the ground is not too soft. The horse was not expected to win last time out and will come on for the run.
Kauto Star is lay of the meeting imo based purely on its unreliable jumping.
How about the relay Gold Cup instead of the Shergar cup. After each lap the Jocks must pass the whip to the next Jock on their team. Can you imagine the outrage as team Winston and Co. drop their whip with one lap to go.
I had a small share in a horse with Milton Bradley. The syndicate manager and Milton were very good at laying out the risks and benefits of sellers/claimers.
I can’t believe Kevin Ryan would put his owners in a position where they could lose the horse for potentially much less than its value without the owners agreeing first.
I agree with the comment on the tote not being very forward thinking.
I think the big rollovers when there is value are often poorly advertised.
I look at the pool bets after the big midweek meeting where the Trifecta race on Saturday often has a big rollover.
