March 2, 2007 at 20:59 #42544I will be cursing Flying Enterprise by adding it to my Scoop 6 for this race. I also Danny like the ew chance of Madison Du Berlais.
March 3, 2007 at 02:54 #42545If you can forgive No Full his run last time this is most definitely his trip.

According to the BF forum, this horse had an abcess in the back of his throat lto, which is quite a detailed reason considering his trainer states in today’s RP that he has no idea what was wrong with him.
Wonder if he’ll get a ban?
With the ground likely to be heavier than Supreme Prince’s ideal, and Nozic set a lot more to do than lto, and over a distance short of his best, Flying Enterprise looks much the likeliest winner, and will probably go off half the odds he is at the moment.
March 3, 2007 at 10:17 #42547Interesting Reet Hard. Sounds like you wouldn’t want to back it at SP then!
March 3, 2007 at 10:37 #42548It looks a terribly weak contest for an 80 grand handicap. Bar the front 2 in the betting, they look competely out of form and/or fully exposed.
March 3, 2007 at 10:45 #42549But given the proximity of Cheltenham does that surprise you DJ?
March 3, 2007 at 12:36 #42550This is the fourth running of the race and looks easily the weakest of them, though this one is worth 20 grand less than the previous three.
It does surprise me to be honest FSL yes. A bird and the hand and all that etc etc.
March 3, 2007 at 14:56 #42551Two which interest me….
Hobbs 2nd String and Jonjo O`Neils Horse not expected to like the going but could land minor honours.
Kalca Mome
unfancied but has a pull for staying on behind Nozic last month Thornton goes for another big pot.
Bold Bishop
5lb higher than last win, ground deemed too soft here
but C and D form is still there and huge odds to make it worth an each way bet.
March 3, 2007 at 19:29 #42552Well, Scoop 6 went down as Flying Enterprise could not carry the burden of all my expectation.
As my second choice which for reasons still unknown does not appear in my Scoop gets up.
Commiserations to the punter whose £2 line went down on leg 6 – it would have been some investment. Still all to play for next week!

“I still feel a 21lb hike is enormous for any horse,â€ÂÂ
March 4, 2007 at 08:01 #42554Before yesterday’s race Nicholls reckoned his horse was handicapped to the hilt and couldn’t win. In the event it looked like the h’capper got it about right or even underestimated the horse as it was only collared near the finish.
The race wasn’t a great contest for the money and doubts about several of the runners proved to be well founded. That said, I’d expect Nozic to be raised again for the narrow defeat.
Trainers seem to argue that:-
1. Horses shouldn’t go up for being beaten.
2. Improvers go up too quickly in the weights, forcing trainers to run them, then don’t come down quickly enough once collared. Examples are the Pipe trained Lucifer Bleu and Nike Walker . The former looked a h’cap snap for its last run but was beaten.
Thoughts?
March 4, 2007 at 15:32 #42555Are Nozic and Madison Du B going to cheltenham

In a nutsell, trainers just do not understand handicapping. I always remeber Harvey Smith moaning one time that the handicapper had given Patriarch Express top weight in the Cleeve Hurdle.
