Happily I was there when Long Run beat Denman and Kauto Star in the Gold Cup. The appreciation for all of them back in the winners enclosure would have bought a tear to the eye of the hardest man.
The one I wasnt there would be Dessies 4th win in the King Goerge
True yes true and he does have a high percentage of horses at his own admission that dont like winter ground. Dont know why in that case punters or bookies are making them long odds on.
I’m sure he’ll come good in March!
Paddy Power’s is a good site as is VC Bet. Dont give your mobile number to Paddy Power though cos as soon as your losing bet has weighed in they send an SMS advertising other promos they have on for other events to hope you deposit more money. Not good when you Sky Plus the racing for watching later and know your’e runners a loser before you have even watched it!
I’ve never liked newmarket as a course, just cant get excited about the place, not like an Espom Goodwood or York.
What is the point as well af having a "dip" as as a feature. It just unablances fast moving horses at a time when they are picking up. It scuppered Toronado’s chances in last years race when coming to make it’s challenge. My personal fav Champagne Fever’s head
Great shots, thanks for sharing them.
tenner on changing the guard in the get out of jail Grand Annual
7 mins to the off!!Bugger! Had an awful cheltenham and this topped it off.
Didn’t stay, might have given Faugheen some competetion in the Neptune
No mention of Deputy Dan?
Very impressive in putting the trial at Warwick to bed between the third and second last hurdles and left a toiling Splash Of Ginge behind in third.
If theres no horse can work with Irving at Paul Nichols as its to fast for anything else including his chamnpion hurdle entries, surely Irving must be unbeatable
Look for runners that are not mentioned by the pundits and not front page news, I had a sneaky three quid on the winner this morning same price as its SP and four on Chris Pea Green soley because of there good runs behind very good horses in there form this season. Splash of Ginge made the frame behind Irving and Deputy Dan last two runs. If this stinks of after timing please request a screen shot of my GG.com watched horses I wrote in January.
I find the best confidence you can go into a bet with is knowing what was said about a horse by its trainer in the Stable Tours in all the trade papers.
They rarely say one thing and another happens in this media. Clive Cox about Lethal Force start of last years flat season in the Weekender "I’d be disapointed if he isnt a Group 1 winning horse" Well two were won in quick succession. And Dr Richard Newland in the RFO wrote in November we are aiming him for the Borders Grand National he wouldnt want it to heavy. That was Royale Knight the winner at Kelso three weeks later, the course riding Good to Soft. He also bigged up Mart Lane a winner also in December.
They are rarley wrong apart from a standout once from Paul Nichols when he said about Poungach "could be anything"
Will not win at Festival two reasons
better on a RH track thats patently obvious and lost out up the hill at Cheltenham to Kid Cassidy an above ordinary horse early in the season. The curse of the new monied owners running it every three to four weeks for a day out on a Saturday. It will be over the top come March probaly peaked last Saturday after its fifth run already this season. Theres plenty talk of not seeing the good animals often enough in a season but doesnt seem to stop the likes of Bobs Worth who’s very lighly entered.
Our Conor won the Triumph easy and his form winning juvenile hurdles in ireland before his festival win was very impressive.
Triumph Hurdle winners dont progress through further festival races as well as those winning the Supreme or placed in the Bumper and winning the Neptune so cant have him for the Champion.
Personally I think Champagne Fever would have been good enough to win last years Champion Hurdle but as Mullins had The Fly in there they entered Champagne Fever in The Supreme and won both, conseqeuntly MTOY who ran CF close for second in the Supreme can pick up this years Championship race now Champagne Fevers gone chasing.
Form was again boosted on Sunday , Kaki De La Pree beaten just a length by KP when the pair were first time out at Fontwell won against a very good field at Carlisle.
I think Kings Palace is a serious horse.
Silvi Conti easily if its good, Bobs Worth If there’s rain
RIP Sir Henry Cecil
