TRF is not the easiest to upload photos to so I’ve created a Flickr page with some of my pics from Cheltenham 2014 on it. If anyone wants a copy of any of the image files (foc) let me know by PM or at <!– e –>david@theracingforum.co.uk<!– e –>

It was only a couple of years ago I went digital Nathan, I like to cling onto my cameras for as long as possible, so don’t hold your breath my friend. But you’ll be the first to know!

Bloody hell your lens must be top quality then David, they are pin sharp images.
March 16, 2014 at 16:35 #472228Most of those were taken with a bargain basement £100 Tamron 70-300mm TAPK. The problem with it is the response time of the autofocus (slow) but it is fine for relatively static images.
I’d love to spend more on some really good kit but the pro stuff is just way too expensive. I think the lower end stuff is much of a muchness and I reckon you get just as good shots with a £300 camera as you probably do with a £1k one. Go up to £3k and above and a different story however. Lenses the same. But I don’t take enogh photos or have the budget for that, you’d need to be earning from it to justify a spend like that.
March 16, 2014 at 16:37 #472229Anyway nathan and TAPK – haven’t you noticed the new CHELTENHAM 2015 Forum I’ve just created? I’m surprised you’re dawdling about in this one?
March 16, 2014 at 17:27 #472231Lovely shots David.
Tamron kit is excellent value – they, produce lenses for several of the major SLR camera manufacturers.
March 16, 2014 at 17:55 #472234Beautiful shots David. Some poignant ones, like Our Conor, and poor Sam T-D. Triumphant ones too like the Sire de Grugy entourage and Big Buck’s. A week full of memories.
March 16, 2014 at 19:45 #472245These photographs are of a professional standard. Nice work indeed, Cormack.

March 17, 2014 at 00:28 #472275You truly captured the spirit of the Festival in your shots David.
I particularly love the Sire de Grugy and the one of Dynaste, wonderful, but poignant, shot of Our Conor, what a handsome horse he was.Did you get one of the Duchess of Cornwall wearing the Sire de Grugy scarf whilst presenting the trophy, I thought she was a great sport.
