It is very unusual for a Pipe horse to have a single target as they are usually the kings of the multiple entry. Personally, I would like my Albert Bartlett fancy to have enough pace to at least have the Neptune as an option. Despite his short price I think Kings Palace is very much third best behind The Liquidator and Red Sherlock in the Pipe pecking order of novices.
The main concern I would have with Racing Pulse would be who is going to take the ride. He looks straightforward but I still wouldn’t want to see Dougie Costello on board.
December 19, 2013 at 13:20 #462218He’s won over 3 miles 2 furlongs at Cheltenham. The Neptune would seem pointless
The other two you mention are either Supreme or Neptune contenders.

Kings Palace is setting everyone up for some almighty fall.
Just have a real feeling about this one going off at 6/4 on the day at Cheltenham and running like Kasbah Bliss did a couple of years ago. Cruising along and then Briar Hill ranges up alongside, next thing Kings Palace is out like a light because he’s never had to battle before in his life.

I knew the name was familiar, I backed this at Ayr.
Absolute piece of dirt that Kings Palace, total bookies horse. Horse can’t even jump.
December 20, 2013 at 12:44 #462393Form was again boosted on Sunday , Kaki De La Pree beaten just a length by KP when the pair were first time out at Fontwell won against a very good field at Carlisle.
I think Kings Palace is a serious horse.
March 14, 2014 at 16:12 #471799Fair play to Stilvi, much the minority opinion on this thread, but turned out spot on
March 14, 2014 at 16:40 #471809If the final flight doesn’t leave a mark don’t write off Kings Palace Joe. Although the over all time wasn’t particularly fast, that may be due to them all going too fast early (particularly bad for the leaders) and walking home. Kings Palace imo ran a lot better than finishing position would’ve been, ditto for Deputy Dan. Best two horses in the race imo. Hope Kings Palace and Captain Cutter (lame) are ok.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2014 at 19:35 #471868Just looking at some of Prufrock’s sectionals, Ginger – some very odd shapes to races today, not least the Gold Cup
March 14, 2014 at 21:05 #471900Was there today and I have to say they came back dead on their feet in this race. They looked as if they had run over 4 miles in the mud.
It seemed very strange and a few others in the crowd echoed my sentiments that it seemed an odd raceMarch 14, 2014 at 22:47 #471934Fair play to Stilvi, much the minority opinion on this thread, but turned out spot on
Appreciate that, there are very few people on here who front up when they get things wrong.
Not to say it did me any good financially as I don’t lay horses.
