Newmill or Well Chief, Its as simple as that in my opinion. If WC is back to his best then he’s the pick. If slightly below his old form then he’ll have a battle on his hands and it should be a great race. Nickname to finish 3rd.

I tend to agree with you flash, as I stated on another thread last night Fair Along has done everything asked of him and should be there or thereabouts.

As for Detroit City, I think that if he gets around without any clangers like Sandown then he will be very difficult to beat, everytime I have seen him run I always got the impression that there was more left in him so come the hill on Tuesday if he’s in the mix then I think he’ll win.

I would choose fair along aswell, although all his races this season have been in races with only a few runners, he ran well in the Triumph last year in a big field and has already comprehensively beaten MDS this year. Hopefully he’s the first leg of a Phillip Hobbs double on Tuesday

Bjk’s ability has rightly been called into question over his shocker of a run in the Cleeve Hurdle, however JJ has always gone on record telling everyone that the horse needs good ground. Also when the Champion jockey of the last 10 years tells you thast hes something very special you’ve got to take notice. As for running in the C/H i think he’d have no chance, lacks real pace in my opinion

If Swan rides and the horse loses then everyone will blame the jockey and not the horse. Maybe the trainer and owners think he may not be good enough to win it this year so are getting their excuses ready. Either that or they are taking an almighty gamble that the horse is so good that he will win with a jockey that isn’t match fit as it were.

Jair du cochet beats best mate once at huntingdon on heavy ground and all of a sudden he’s going to dominate for years. Three gold cups is three gold cups. Got to be Best Mate for me on this one.

I’m pretty sure that if o’neil wants mccoy on straw bear then thats where he’ll be – regardless of how good a horse brave inca is.
