Must be that an orange glare’s affecting Jim’s perception. Or maybe he missed a falling baton and it knocked a little more sense out of him!

My first horse racing memory, at the July meeting 1953, was seeing Prince Monolulu in all his finery. Ostrich feathers on his head and scuffed loafers on his feet. Not so much shock and awe, more like gobsmacked. I can’t remember anything about the Races though. Have since read his biography and thouroughly enjoyed it.

APracing; you really are starting to sound like a founding member of the thought police. Take a deep breath, calm down and think pleasing thoughts before you hit the "submit" button

<br>AP, no, but it would be a more interesting forum if just occasionally the self-opinionated among us could take onboard and perhaps give a little value to someone else’s views.

Cliquey? The TRF? Never! Just read the last eight pages of self congratulatory crap and make your own mind up. All, apart from a few honourable exceptions, are naive, self-opinionated, pedantic anoraks who take themselves far too seriously.

I’m afraid I’m one of the legions who are of the opinion that Rooster Booster is no better than a high class handicapper that was fortunate to be at his best in a sub standard Champion Hurdle that was padded up with Novices and fading lights. He will not see the road the Cowboy takes in 2004!;)
