Why would AP be riding OHO when he is also in the ownership of Graham Wylie

Yes, not quite sure how I managed to mix up On His Own and
Triolo D’Alene. I’m going to put that one down to a senior moment. It was all so clear in my head, but just in my head……oops

No, Geraghty will be on Triolo. AP on one of the umpteen McManus horses. Possibly APs last National

What will Fehily ride?
Probably Tidal Bay

Why would AP be riding OHO when he is also in the ownership of Graham Wylie

That was my first thought but then realised Schofield would probably ride Teaforthree

You do have a point but still believe the GC is too short for TB. 4 1/2 miles may be just right and hope to see another Neptune Collonges, running on, winning in the final stride and then retirement. Who will be riding the horse now, guessing that Sam T-D will be on one of his Dad’s

Hypothetical question.
Could / Would one of the two Grand National hopefuls Long Run or Tidal Bay have won this?
Probably not. TB would have probably got a furlong behind half a mile from home but run on to finish 3rd
LR sadly isn’t good enough anymore for a GC placing, never mind win. Another horse affected by its 1st GC win.Really looking forward to going back to work Monday
Shouldn’t wish your life away but roll on next March
Should the placings be reversed?
Under how the existing rules are always interpreted by stewards, No.
And I think this is a good thing.
As a punter, I am hugely more annoyed to lose a race in the stewards room than I am pleased to win one there when I’ve been beaten. Unless something pretty extreme has happened, I am always happy to see the first past the post be called the winner.
Whilst this may very occasionally lead to an injustice – and there
may
have been one in this case (although some of the responses above show that it’s impossible to get a consensus on such matters) – I much prefer the certainty of the horse in front getting the race than the associated guesswork that needs to be applied to promote beaten horses.
Compared to other countries, this is one rule I genuinely believe the UK has spot on.

Yes without a doubt. I backed OHO today and gutted he lost but would have been rather a hollow victory if he had been given the race. Horses were obviously knackered with a few all over the track. Hopefully will soon be forgotten about and no appeals made either, because that would be bad. Backing a GC winner and not getting paid out

Think it just goes to show what an extra special horse you have to be to win 2 Gold Cups. I thought BW probably would win today but at the price would not touch it. Had SC to win and OHO ew. Jumping the last I thought SC may just win but keeping a close eye on BW up the hill. The allegiance soon changed and feel gutted for Casey/Mullins although you have to be pleased for Culloty, 10 years since BM’s final win and Russell, who remains a great jockey despite losing his job at the start of the year. Can BW do a Kauto and regain next year?
Although I think Davy Russell is still a good jockey, he’s now getting on a bit and may struggle to do low weights – and you know the penalties Michael O’Leary gives if you are overweight

2003 Kerry National – Think it was 2 from home when Cloudy Bays fell after leading all the way. Still going well enough but may not have won. Remember this as i had a few quid on. Had backed against Cloudy Bays the year before in a 3 horse race won by my pick a 10/1 shot Brown ??? Cloudy Bays BD first fence with faller, leaving Norman Williamson to complete the 2 circuits of the track on his own

He’s back

Backed Moth in the Guineas and as theres been one flying around my bedroom for the last 2 days it’s got to be an omen. That’s as good as it gets

Interested to read the blog, Betlarge.
I picked four winners today at Ascot, but only backed one. The one with the smallest price.
I will appreciate a how-to guide to keeping sanity and temper.
Did you have Excellent Guest? Did anyone?
I am sure there will be 1 or 2 who religiously back Tom Queally and will have had a good day. Well done to them

Seemed to stop riding Monsfield about 10-20 yards from line for a split second which may have cost him the outright win. Mind you he must have been more knackered than the horse with all them smacks

Thought Claire Balding’s face was a picture when the Sheikh cut the interview short. Not sure it was like a new naughty school girl look after been told off or a glance into the camera to tell her bosses "I knew that would happen but you wanted me to go through with it"
got a feeling that moth will hose up in this.
Hope you are right
