Bet each way, sketti.
Strong contender for thread of the year, JG.
And is it me or has Behest shown enough at Hereford and Uttoxeter on her last two starts to suggest there’s a dire 2m handicap hurdle "within her compass"?
Hexham (NB). Spartan, arctic, but with a charm and beauty like nearly nowhere on Earth.
Fully agreed, Mr Grayson. If it’s picturesque you’re after, Hexham beats anywhere else in Britain. Only Goodwood comes close…

Thanks for the links, Ugly Mare, and full marks to Chris McGrath for an interesting pair of articles.
Is Sportingbet, who allegedly refused to pay on winning bets struck by Curley’s associates, the same company advertising a £25 free wager on the World Cup on the right-hand side of the page as I type? Surely not?
Yes I agree Phil I find him a bit that way too. He dosen’t put up much excitement even on a close finish.
That’s Slater’s strength in my view. Not a big fan of screaming. Darren Owen climaxed 2 seconds into his Grand National commentary; the breathless, fever-pitched distortion that followed made the mute button essential.
13 runs (3 wins) on Flat in Scandinavia, according to Racing Post.
Although the last time I looked on Turia Tellwright’s Just Giving page for her charity push-bike ride he still hadn’t donated anything – tight git
If Turia’s dad is responsible for producing the cycle track, the poor girl could be in for a shock. Wonder if she handles the mud.
Have never been to Crook, but it sounds like the Wild West up there.
Well said, Rob! An important point for Rochdale today, one that edges them closer to automatic promotion. In my 40 years they’ve
never
been out of the bottom division.
Oddschecker will tell you what the place terms are for each bookmaker for individual races. For example:
Important game at Spotland today.
And probably more exciting than the egg-and-spoon racing in South Wales.

£52 traded at 999/1 on Betfair.
Another Kicking King?

Tom Segal is one of those racing journalists who likes to see himself as slightly different from the rest, in so much that, as Pricewise, he sees it as his duty to take an alternative view of things, if you like.
That’s true, but it’s surely one of his strengths. Deliberately betting against the crowd is an approach followed by many successful punters, and Segal’s record speaks for itself. I don’t always agree with his logic, and couldn’t have Private Be at all (though I’ve also not fancied several of his winners lately), but it’s impossible to argue with his excellent record. And if Segal rattles a few cages with the odd controversial dig at the game’s sacred cows, all the better. More than any other sport, racing is about opinions, about putting your money where your mouth is. Segal does so, and entertainingly too.
Noel Fehily a surprising omission.
Nice idea, insomniac.
And their trainers to be horse-whipped by anyone winning the placepot?
I agree with Expect To Win and seabird.
