EP has had a good winter we are told and done well.

    We shall see tomorrow…… :D :D

There looks a cracking ew bet in this race to me. Not been mentioned so far so once it’s a confirmed runner I’ll get my money on and then tell you. There are 39 other runners but it stands out to me. :D :D

AP said on C4 TV that he did not need to decide until 2 days before the race and he had a choice of 4, if that helps.

If you want to bet on him Skybet go 14-1 for him to win.

    http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoE … seracing_2

Now that looks a fair bet to me as whatever he rides won’t be 14-1 imo.

I for one would love to see him win, he has given me so much pleasure.

    That was worth waiting for.

I did have a little at 20-1 with Sportingbet. The going turned against Dream Alliance but it ran ok. Thanks for the Stem Cell jokes my mate is back home (yesterday) and hopefully now cancer free. Has a load of metal in his spine but able to walk – just. He’s a fighter, loves his golf, and bxxxx me has money at long odds on the first two. He should pick up tonight.

btw Don’t believe the bookies sob stories on the GN there were 40 runners and they only paid out on 4 or 5 which is why I only had two small bets!

But all the other entries are more than 5-1! At 7-4 SNA odds say it’s June in Epsom and he’s already under orders!

What I am saying he has no 3 year old form or over the distance so the odds that he actually turns up for the Derby must be 5-1 then add your 7/4 etc.

    Hope that helps… :D

Now I see that for the Derby William Hill now go 7/4 SNA and Paddypower 5/2.

Are the betting public that stupid it must be 5-1 that he might not turn up! :D

Aintree is on sandy soil so it does dry out quicker than most courses.

Just in case it doesn’t I’m going to have a little bet on Dream Alliance @ 50-1

My best mate has just had a load of stem cells and I heard with interest that it has worked for Dream Alliance. My mate is going into a bubble for a few weeks with his mobile but he will need cheering up. Got any jokes?

    Hi Fist

    Elusive Pimpernel

Regarding 1mile I see it differently. The horse was asleep in the ‘Racing Post’ and then ran on. It was a false race that ended in a sprint and I think the connections were happy to be second before the race – leave some for next time. Going good/soft not ideal.

Some interesting comments here as well. Glad I got my share of 25-1 for the Derby!

Interested to see how much muscle he’s put on. My doubts about the Derby will be coming down the hill.

    No I didn’t write it! :D :D

He is a big horse so it will be interesting to see how much muscle he’s put on.

Had a ratio bet on Elusive Pimpernel.

John’s just up the road and so is/was Guy.

20-1 anti post after some negotiations.

Elusive Quality it’s dad has the record time for 1 mile on turf. Son is a big boy and will take a lot of beating imo. I’m not on my own.

I see EP is entered for the Dante.

    Hi Zarkava,

I think you misunderstand. Corals were offering 66-1 for the double. 20-1 is available for the 2000g and Ladbrokes 25-1 for the Derby. So 66-1 is a joke. It should be slightly down on 20 x 25 = 500 – 1 plus a bit.

    Don’t agree about 1.5 miles.

Dad is retaled to Northern Dancer, Sir Ivor and Secretariat.

Mum won over a mile and a half (held up, headway to lead over 2f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, rallied to lead again inside final furlong, ran on) and she has Sadlers Wells and Troy in her blood.

Will it come down the hill? Maybe.

    Zarkava,

    Man after my own heart:-

Jim Delahunt (Scottish Herald)- 30th March

"That said, since John Dunlop’s Elusive Pimpernel (fouled 14th Feb) is going to reverse the Racing Post Trophy form with St Nicholas Abbey and win at both Newmarket and Epsom, O’Brien’s raiders will be seeking here and there for place money.

Oops, that’s the cat out of the bag!"

I see Skybet were going 5-1 SNA the double, which ain’t good.

I’ve just got a quote on one which is around 16-1 and 20-1 and the double was 66-1. Whimps!!!

    :D :D

Jumps – has to be Arkle

Flat – has to be the Dancing Brave trained just round the corner. I was there in 1986 it was his amazing turn of foot whether a mile or a mile and a half.
