Finally decided to cash out the Battleground small saver bet. Doesn’t appear as though he will run
Disappointing about Shale, but I think Fev Rover has an EW chance in this field, so I’ve added some more.
1000 Guineas
Fev Rover 0.5pt EW 20/1You fancy PP for Friday FF or gunna leave him alone? Might need a bit of revving up first time out and with a penalty?
Sky Lantern won the Guineas on GF though? Hard to know I guess, but she seemed very comfortable on that ground yesterday, which appears as though it wasn’t quick at all, maybe even on the softer side of Good. It was 6.7 officially.
I agree with you Jack really, she’s very exciting but possibly not one for Newmarket yet.
I’m really excited he’s out on Friday, great card at Sandown to look forward to!
How fast was it yesterday though? Officially Good, but they were calling it fast ground on ITV?
Newbury are watering the track apparently Jack! Unbelievable!!
Anyway, I’m going add Mujbar as this might be okay for him, worth a shot at 12s to find out
Mujbar 12/1
I was considering Lucid Dreamer, but then if you go through the beaten horses in her races, it’s awful form really. She could be anything, but that obviously means nothing as well. 10/1 hmmm perhaps…..
I think this is impossible to have confidence in any of them, so I might actually just go for Happy Romance, for some comic value, as RH says “she’ll take all the beating” in his stable tour!!
haha, Love RH
Let’s do it
Happy Romance 7/1
Clive Cox mentioned they probably wouldn’t want conditions on the quick side Jack, looking at the forecast it should only get quicker now unless they water it, could well be GF ground come Sunday.
Too busy thinking about whether to put the bins out TTC!
It was a crap prep then, he’s got a lot of work to do there to be winning 6F Group1s.
Not going to write him off, but I’d like to see him run again before Ascot
Oxted has a question to answer now, has the trip taken too much from him. Can’t believe they will go straight to Ascot off that? Sandy Lane maybe?
Cheers Jac, had to keep the faith one more time, he actually settled beautifully and could well have won that race with an impressive display had he a clear path. That’s given something for CA to think about I’m sure. It’s not a vintage Guineas, he’s got a good chance now.
2000 Guineas
Master of the Seas 0.5pt 12/1Was nearly my tip for the Guineas, so I can’t leave him unbacked after that Craven win
I really don’t think AOB cares that much about the opposition, he has to run his horses somewhere, he has so many.
My thoughts on La Barrosa Jac, is that I know the Craven rarely produces the Guineas winner, but it might be just a pointer that he wasn’t entered as it suggests they don’t think he’s that good.
This might not take that much winning though mind, so I can see the interest.
We’ve basically split this thread between the two Godolphin’s, so that makes AOB winning a certainly

Yeah I am a fan of Master of the Seas, he was almost my pick for the Guineas until that horror show in Dubai. Serious question marks about him after that in terms of being a Classic winner, but he ought to be winning this. I do think he is a classy looking horse, he obviously needs to settle, maybe the hood does it. Interesting that the RP state today that CA strike rate with his horses in first time hoods is high, something like 35%
Interesting take on the National Stakes Kev. Could be right, but isn’t the fact the first 3 home in that were also the first 3 home in the Dewhurst, mean the form is franked about as good as you can frank form?!
Master of the Seas 3/1
I’ll give him another chance!
Yeah you’d have to be really disappointed if he can’t beat this field even not fully wound up. Should be a prep race for Ascot, but he should win comfortably. If he doesn’t then I wouldn’t go near him for Ascot as potentially something is now amiss.
I think he will though, I wasn’t that keen on him last year, but he ran a cracker at Ascot in ground he would’ve hated. I like him a lot after that, shows he has a great attitude as well as speed.
Should be a banker really
I was leaning towards La Barossa but he’s not entered in the Guineas which might be a pointer as to his level of talent?
