I could be looking into this the wrong way + the favourite will just win as he’s so far ahead of the rest, but given his poor outing to Saudi, Teal has said they’ve been very easy on him since. Combined with that he’s now a G1 winner unlike last year where he was stepping up from handicap company. I just think this will very much be a run to blow away the cobwebs for the bigger races.
The issue is on the figures it’s hard to see what is good enough to beat him.
I’d probably side with Emaraaty Ana as he ran well first time out this season + i just have a feeling Kevin Ryan thinks he’s better than he’s done. Summerghand was behind him last time, and was hard fit from the AW, even with a troubled passage, it was a good run from EA.
Any thoughts?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 15, 2021 at 10:43 #1536528I looked at the race for approximately 2 seconds
Saw Oxted was odds on and the ground is fast and thought he would just win
April 15, 2021 at 11:07 #1536532Yeah you’d have to be really disappointed if he can’t beat this field even not fully wound up. Should be a prep race for Ascot, but he should win comfortably. If he doesn’t then I wouldn’t go near him for Ascot as potentially something is now amiss.
I think he will though, I wasn’t that keen on him last year, but he ran a cracker at Ascot in ground he would’ve hated. I like him a lot after that, shows he has a great attitude as well as speed.
Should be a banker really
April 15, 2021 at 11:20 #1536536Oxted should win this 75% of the time can’t see many dangers emaratta ana possibly a better bet on the place market
April 15, 2021 at 14:56 #1536576I’m just having a small EW bet on
Shine So Bright Jack. If he comes back to form he could figure here..but you have to fear Oxted.

BUY THE SUN
April 15, 2021 at 15:29 #1536582I hope campanelle stays in Europe for the season after royal ascot
Can see her wiping the floor with the older 6f horses once the 3yos start taking them on
April 15, 2021 at 16:36 #1536597Oxted has a question to answer now, has the trip taken too much from him. Can’t believe they will go straight to Ascot off that? Sandy Lane maybe?
April 15, 2021 at 16:41 #1536598I think the clues were in the quotes, after the bad run, they let him off to start again, so unlike last year where the g3 was a big race, this year it’s a prep….

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 15, 2021 at 16:42 #1536599It was a crap prep then, he’s got a lot of work to do there to be winning 6F Group1s.
Not going to write him off, but I’d like to see him run again before Ascot
April 15, 2021 at 16:43 #1536601Too busy thinking about whether to put the bins out TTC!
April 15, 2021 at 19:42 #1536638Maybe it was, or maybe it was around a 110 performance which is only 3pd less than the handicap mark he was given for winning it last year. Given last year he was probably ready to rock and this year its a prep, i’d say it was alright.
As you say let’s see what he does next time.
