Seems very unlikely given the Prince of Wales is stablemate lord norths main target for the season

Yeah true, I’ve had a really good look through the lockinge entries, lope y Fernandez is reportedly a bit behind the others in training according to AOB, and it’s very hard to make a really good case for others. Personally I can’t see me plumping for Order of Australia over PP.

It’s also entirely possible PP could run a fair bit underneath form and still win both races actually.

Well we found the horse to take on PP!

    Lope y Fernandez 8/1 win

Done him for the lockinge also

Today proved what some have been saying from early last season, he’s a miler! Love the horse, but lets not get carried away Frenchy, 8-1 for him or 5-1 for PP? Surely 5-1 was the best all day.

He won well, but beating Saltonstall by 5.5l getting 3pd isn’t superb form, the 3rd is 90 rated and been running over sprint trips.

They’ll both look short enough prices looking at Top Ranks arse.

He won’t be tuned right up though Jack, that was a prep. Winning a prep by 5.5L with a promise of more to come puts him in with a good chance. Plus we should listen to Aidan when he says things like we always thought he’d be better at 4. He doesn’t say that about all his older horses. Top Rank needs to step up again before the lockinge but I think he’s going straight there potentially which gives him a massive amount to find.

Saltonstall is also a Listed mile winner, it’s not throw in the bin form

I’d take the 5/1 Lockinge ahead of the 8/1 Ascot myself.

I know all that Frenchy, my point is he’s beaten a 1 time listed winner getting 3pd. Who finished ahead of a 90 rated horse by a head. 8/1 for him or 5/1 for PP i know where i’d be happier and i’m a big LYF fan.

You found yourself questioning Palace Pier’s form, just pointing it out. We knew LYF stayed a mile already, what was there to learn today that encouraged taking 8/1?

PP is not 5/1 for the Queen Anne though

Of course he’s not, but you did a lot of crabbing of him at 5/1, and all i’m saying is i find it stranger than you are jumping on LYF at 8/1 with many more question marks.

Because I think you can dig holes in Palace Piers form, as I’ve said already. I’m not wholly convinced he’s a 125 rated miler and he was beaten easily last time out despite the fact he’s proven on soft.

The only real excuse there, was maybe it was sticky soft at Ascot, could very well be, but this game is not just about following form lines it’s also about identifying the improvers and as I stated before I think LYF could be one this year.

Taking 8/1 now on LYF gives me the opportunity to go in on a saver with PP nearer the day if I choose to play safe.

Palace Pier lost a shoe not long after the start of the QEII and had run in really deep group in the Marois which could easily have taken its toll.

I chucked a free bet on Palace Pier 3-1 for this, thinking not much opposition.

Yes frenchy always exciting when the good horses start to come out

Even if you know they probably aren’t close to full fitness

You fancy PP for Friday FF or gunna leave him alone? Might need a bit of revving up first time out and with a penalty?
