5.15 Aintree: CALL THE COPS (Unique de Cotte)Poor horse, looked in an awful amount of pain. Surely it would be an insult to say the usual crap like “hope he didn’t suffer too long” because that looked just like massive pain and it was long enough. What a consistent horse and great jumper and what a tragic end.
Rest in Peace Tammy’s Hill !!!Died as a result of a heavy fall during the Novices’ Selling Hurdle at Exeter this afternoon. I always think that a different job should already have been found for those who are running in lowly graded selling races.
RIP Artisan
I share about the same thoughts Jane. The horse ran last time on the 28th of December 2012 in a hurdle race. About 27 months!!! If you don’t know what the horse is able to perform just leave it alone. Don’t start a new experiment in a discipline it already has failed at. Though there might be no bad intention behind that unfortunately a lot of horses lose their lives under similar circumtances.
Just read that. Very sad.

4.00 Kelso – Uno ValorosoA very, very nice and moving tribute. Well written Mr. Webber!!! Some trainers and owners could learn a lot from those lines you shared with us. It is still a bad feeling just to think back about Billy’s fall. But at least he was given the best treatment possible and every chance to survive.
Rest in Peace Billy! Thanks for the update Jac and congratulations to the big priced winners. Some very good tipping around here.

Good luck to all of you and enjoy the last day of the Festival!
Yeah, just read it on Twitter. Sad, because he had his share of problems over the past two years and yet Henderson ran 6 in that race, despite being badly out of form. To make things worse he was well towards the rear when he took a heavy and fatal fall at the last. Probably it was the owner’s wish to have a runner at the Festival not considering the poor stable and horse’s form.

It’s only halftime Gentlemen and from tomorrow on they will be racing on the New Course – which I can’t read at all.
Well maybe retirement could be a bit premature regarding SDG. But I hate to see a former Champion Chase winner running for minor place money against younger and faster horses. Probably a step up in trip could be worth a try. As far as Sprinter Sacre is concerned, please let me know what the next experiments are. Apparently MILKSHAKES are a good drink.
@ Steve: It was a wake-up thread!!! I’m glad that they are bang in form since I was on Southfield Theatre, Dodging Bullets and Aux Ptits Soins. I don’t mind being wrong with the start of my thread. Nevertheless one chase winner from over 80 runners is still a bit weak for a bloke like him.
Sprinter Sacre is believed to be suffering from something internal. Come on Nicky, you have completely forgotten how to train a chaser. Let the horse retire in one piece!
