Sad to report Tammy’s Hill killed today. 10 years old, a sad end for such a good old horse.
April 6, 2015 at 18:54 #873894Poor horse, looked in an awful amount of pain. Surely it would be an insult to say the usual crap like “hope he didn’t suffer too long” because that looked just like massive pain and it was long enough. What a consistent horse and great jumper and what a tragic end.
Rest in Peace Tammy’s Hill !!!April 7, 2015 at 09:00 #874216That’s horrible news … were you actually there? I only saw the replay of the race and just saw him being pulled up.
RIP Tammys Hill – you were running a brave race and did not deserve such an end
I’ve seen more now and have to admit he did look distressed and have to hope that the vet got there ASAP to help him …April 7, 2015 at 12:25 #874319Was dreading to see this. Backed the horse so noticed he pulled up sharply after struggling to jump the 4th last. Hoping that he had just clouted the fence which had taken everything out of him and that he was just knackered. But in a way I knew something was wrong. RIP Tammys Hill
April 7, 2015 at 16:55 #874411It’s the epitome of the racing accident that couldn’t be avoided. This is Tammys Hill’s best time of year, a track he likes, ground that suited and he was the son of a stallion who kept on improving with age.
What a sad end though. Tammys Hill made me smile at the end of a wretched Cheltenham punting-wise last year and was one of the most efficent jumpers I’ve seen under an amateur. RIP.
