When I was at school I was taught the Christian story as undisputed fact – which is clearly a wrong thing to do.
Similarly I was also taught about genetics, which I found fascinating, but with it being the late 60’s early 70’s the knowledge was relatively sparse and much of what we were taught as fact was in fact incorrect, like evolving from Neanderthals.
.. my point exactly.
I do remember someone once arguing that some humans are more evolved than others and that didn’t work out too well in the end.
Do you think that some humans are more evolved than others and if some of us are which ones are they?
That evolution thing hasn’t really worked out for you has it.
Hope you turn into something a bit brighter.
You obviously have no understanding of the world you live in, everything you’ve written is perverse.
If a human suddenly developed gills it would be evidence that disproved evolution.
"Anything that can be properly analysed disproves evolution not the opposite"
Give one example, you will win a Nobel prize if you could find just one example with supporting evidence.
The human brain is too big for it’s functional requirements, please explain how it got so big?
Glaciers? I don’t have a clue what glaciers have to do with evolution
Another theory, sorry a guess, passed off as a fact when I was a boy.
Rumour has it that we didn’t evolve from Neanderthals now, btw. It was passed off as a fact a few years ago that we did. We never evolved from cromagnons either, they were bigger and better than us. Anything that can be properly analysed disproves evolution not the opposite.
Why do we have a brain 10 times bigger than we need? Did we suddenly get stupid, evolution argues that you wouldn’t have something physically that you wouldn’t have an immediate use for.
The Evolution story holds no more water than the Joseph Smith story, cobbled together by clever conmen and scientists who don’t have a clue.
Like I said to you before, I won’t go looking for evidence that supports a theory .. that would be like watching world news on CNN and claiming to be clued up on world affairs.
Anyway, I’m going for a swim, wonder if I will come back with gills?
Hey guys,
I’m absolutely new to horse racing and betting so my question is a simple one: What is the most basic advice whan placing a bet? Do I just go with my gut randomly or is there a method to it? Or any way of making an ‘educated guess’? Sorry to bother all you veterans with this trivial question but I have to start somewhere

cheersJust read up about racing a bit, different types of races, how prices work etc .. would be a good starting point.
If your starting out, just backing second and third favourites in each-way doubles and trebles in non-HCP races will give you a good run for your money, especially when the favourite is short priced.
As a general rule, always expect to lose and if you happen to win, spend the lot on yourself or your family. Don’t give it back to the bookies.
Good luck and have fun whatever you do.
Evolution is just a theory. If it were true where do humans fit in?
I don’t know where human’s came from and wouldn’t hazzard a guess but I don’t believe that the evolution opinion holds any more water than the God one, personally.
Whereas Mormonism and Evolution have lots of things in common, like changing their opinions to suit the times. Ignoring bits of evidence which don’t ‘fit’ the theory and rationalising that everyone who doesn’t buy into it is either mad or morally inferior.
I remember getting taught in school that glaciers crept across europe during the last ice age, as a fact. We know now, after the invention of satellites and further studies of glacial mechanics that this could not have happened. So science has to agree that boulders the size of houses from Norway on the top of the Alps got there by other means.
It seems best to start off from a point of not believing anything that’s passed off as a fact and examining the things that don’t fit the theory, rather than looking around for coincidences that do fit the theory.
It’s the Messiah Story that appears all over the world in lots of religions. I think this ones has it’s origins in Egypt?
The newer stories like evolution, scientology, mormonism and all that are equally incredible when we apply the same logic.
With statistics, you have to prove that an observation isn’t down to either, luck or coincidence.
There is an article somewhere that shows you how to set up chi-test for horse racing results using excel with the CHITEST function.
Hope that helps
We shouldn’t be giving India anything .. not one sausage.
We could start cutting public spending by stopping payments to the EU?
The unelected so-called president gets paid more than Obama.
Interesting stuff Bruce .. is this like a horses to follow approach?
The problem with Nigel is that he has been right about the Euro from start to finish, a breath of fresh air compared to the college boys that lead the other parties. I think it’s because he has had a proper job and in the real world.
insomniac, the only way to reduce national debt to a manageable level is to stimulate economic growth through tax cut and public spending. Thats what the US has done and it works.

insomniac, I don’t agree with the article or it’s findings as they are talking about the symptoms of a fundamental problem which is the membership of the Euro of those countries which should never have joined it.
The PIIGS countries need to devalue their own currencies to redress the balance between themselves and the other countries which are more industrialised and competitive. There will be no end to the bail outs until this happens I’m afraid.
Every country (including the UK) needs economic growth and not spending cuts. Labour were spot on with their manifesto at the last general election, to cut the deficit more slowly. Its a pity that the self proclaimed economic genius Vince Cable didn’t see that.
The spending cuts in this country are not driven by the economics but by the Tories desire to privatise and profiteer basically carrying on from where Thatcher left off.
