I think Trump is roughly on the same danger level as Putin, both are egotistical
maniacs who will seize what they want by hook or by crook. I think his comments
about british or EU troops being a sort of backup to the US were ill-advised and
uncalled for. Could he go furher and add some meat to the bone on his statement
if he wanted to, well yes he could. He would state that in the Afganistan conflict
2,461 US Troops were killed about 1,000 other Nato troops were killed, 457 were British.
In the Iraq war, 4,500 US troops were killed, 179 British troops also lost their lives. Now don’t shoot the messenger here, and it’s a tragedy whoever gave their life, no
matter where they came from. The facts are the facts, no more than that. I imagine
that is where he was coming from, but it was still an insult to the families who
lost their loved ones. If I were to play devils advocate, I might ask “does he have
a point”. Discuss…..I thought Josh The Boss put up a good show last month at Aintree leading on the
run in only to be caught in the shadow of the post by Prairie Wolf. He’s never
been by 2m 5f but I get the impression that 3m could be his trip. It’s soft
at the moment but with no rain forecast and a stiff breeze it could turn out
G/S which would be ok. The young apprentice, Jamie Neild, knows the horse well
and his 7lb claim could make the difference.Josh The Bosh 15 and 15 1/2 Betfair exchange (generally 11/1 elsewhere)
Is that wishful thinking Mike?

You may well be right Tizzards, withour Sir Gino I’d have a
darned good shout of the e/w 2 places as I stuck my bet on
on the 19th. The conditions at the moment are soft with heavy
patches. Rain is f/c for tomorrow, it all depends how much
comes. Anything more than the odd shower and I reckon it will
be heavy all round.Well done with your f/c Jac, that kept you in the game

Hilitany was indeed 4th Jac but Paddy only paid 3 places (miserable get).
Wasted a good draw and with less than a furlong to go he was 8th but ran
on strongly with no chance of catching the front 3, beaten 4 1/2L.I was out all afternoon so didn’t see any of the races, which was
maybe just as well. Really disappointed with Yandeek, he ran the
other way round from last time out. He stayed up prominent and
looked to going well until he fell into a hole 400mts out. If
it aint broke, don’t fix it. You can bet your boots that he’s
held up next time, if he is I’d still fancy him. Black mark
for Beasley
At least my man Si Woo Kim is only 1 shot off the lead over in the USA.
He’s still got 5 holes to play in the 2nd round. He’s 30/1 so could get
me out of a hole after my Meydan disaster
I think Paddy is being a bit generous with odds of 16/1 for Hilitany. He’s
done little wrong. He’s only run 5 times for George Boughey but was thought
enough of in his introduction, where he was 2nd, to go off at 4/1 backed down
from 15/2 (touched 7/2) so clearly he was impressing them at home. He won his
next 2 then stretched it a bit far going for the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes,
he was a respectible 7th having been up there but fell away in the last furlong.
He had a break and on his 1st run at Meydan ran well in 4th. The comments attached
to his run said tired in the last furlong. I don’t agree with that, he just had 3
horses side by side in front of him, the jockey realised the situation and didn’t
burn him up. He’s got a good draw in 1 if he can get out quick enough and he has won
from the front.Hilitany 16/1 e/w Paddy Power.
In the 4.25 I’ve tried to get something at decent odds, but I just can’t
get away from Walk of stars. He won this last year (same trainer/Jockey)
and would have needed his run last month after 8 months off, leading from
the get go and only being nabbed in the last 110 yards. This clearly has
been the plan since last year. Well why wouldn’t you for £446,964 ?
The odds aren’t great but I think he’s too good to give upWalk of Stars 11/4 William Hill.
5.35 I have to say that I was mega impressed with Yamdeek in his 1st
introduction to racine where he finished 2nd to the favourite Brotherly
Love. I travelled well throughout and was content to sit back. Going round
the final bend he hadn’t been asked for anything, and still had about 10 in
front of him. When Connor Beasley pressed the button he went past the field
like they were trees. The fav had already flown but Yamdeek must have made up
the best part of 20L in that last couple of furlongs. I think he’s got an
outstanding chance.Yamdeek 25/1 e/w William Hill.
I think that will do me for now unless something else catches my eye. I hate
to bet against Godolphin when I desperately need the points, but betting is
betting.Very best of luck today all, I hope we come home with a satchel of the
bookies money
Nice stuff Wilts and Kendicate, I didn’t think he was going to get
there. You have to hand it to young Eoin Staples, that 5lb claim
came in handy. Sergeant Cecil and Ruby, my heart bleeds for you
guys with that last fence blunder. I know I’ll not be with most
here, I’ve just never been a big fan of Paul Townend. He’s ridden
some good races but then when you’re getting the call on the
Mullins horses, you would expect him to.Champion Hurdle – Nemean Lion E/W 80/1 Sporting Index
Gold Cup – Inothewayurthinkin 7/1 WIN William Hill
I’m not for a minute thinking Nemean Lion is up to the level, or even
near Sir Gino and The New Lion, but things happen in races, such
as when The New Lion and Constitution Hill departed in the Fighting
Fifth. Having said that, Nemean Lion is a pretty decent horse. he’s
won 3 of his last six, was pulled up in the Stayers Hurdle at the
Festival (at 16/1) and his last 2 runs have been within 2L of the
winners {Golden Ace and Potters Charm) . I think the 50/1 2 places
with Bet365, which I took 2 days ago, is worth a punt.Nemean Lion 50/1 2 places Bet365

Will Do looked all over the winner when he ran out of
steam over the last at Fairyhouse and was nabbed on the line
by one of JP’s, Better Times Ahead who went up 9lbs for that
Will Do is now 4 lbs better off with Better Times Ahead, who
is 6/1. Elliot has put up a reasonable apprentice who takes
off another 5lbs. I don’t see why the gap in price, and Will
Do may have ran out of puff after the last, but that was over
3m 6f. The 3m 1F should suit just right.Will Do 25/1 Paddy Power
Seems a bit like a Mullins V Elliot show. Mullins has 6 entered
and Elliot has 5. That’s nearly 2/3 of the field.Just noticed Mike that she is now not in the line up, as of just a few minutes ago.
Maybe just as well I didn’t get my ante post 16/1
Kicking myself for waiting just too long and the boards were wiped. I was to
take the 16/1 on Spindleberry but it looks when they open again it’s liable
to be down to 10s. I’ll still take it but Nonetheless kicking myself. She’s
carrying the weight, although she normally does, but I think there’s a touch
of class about her. I know the owner wanted her entered in the Gold Cup and
Mullins thought there wasn’t much of a chance and that she’d go for the mare’s
race, but seems the owner has got his way and she has an entry for the GC although
I think it’s unlikely she will appear in it.Spindleberry (at the best price I can get when the book opens again)
