Great tipping this week!
Hi Mark
Really missed you’re tips this week at Royal Ascot.
I’ve been following your tips for a few years now and have shown a good profit!Hopefully you can start a new thread in the near future.
All the best
MarkThanks Mark
I hope you looking for a bet everyday doesn’t affect your excellent strike rate and profitability
Morning Mark
Im a little confused since you’ve added race of the day to this thread it’s not clear whether both of today’s are race of the days or just one of them?
Nice result there ginge! Garde la Victoire 16/1
Aaah good look forward to reading your views

Hello Ginge,
Surprised not to see any selections today! You keeping your powder dry?
Interesting thoughts ..thanks for those!
One other thing Baynet:
Not in this case, but someimes I put a bookmaker each way bet up on this thread, where as I personally often take the price on betfair to win together with a saver on the place market. But with so little liquity its difficult to quote betfair prices with place markets. That’s a good option thanks

Hi Ginge,
In your experience doesn’t this sort of e/w bet, which is frowned upon by the bookies, merely give the bookies an easy chance to flag and restrict/close your account?
Similar thoughts apply to taking the best prices overnight in a light trading market?
I have been restricted on some of my accounts and I am very wary of losing others. This means that i feel i need to avoid these e/w "thieving" bets and for straight win betting it’s best for me to wait for the best prices on the day of racing assuming there is still some juice in the price( this also gives you the benefit of the BOG/BPG for drifters).
I know i won’t get the absolute best prices but at least there will be another day with that bookie.
Whats been your experience and is there anything you do to try to keep off their radar?
Cheers

Hi Ginge,
Out of interest did you hear the Frankie anecdote this morning on the morning line re: Hillstar…. he said he rode work on Estimate with Hillstar and Estimate ran all over him… Tom Segal and the others were then questioning his speed for this!!
Baynet
Hi Baynet, sorry for the belated response. Most of my views on Hillstar can be seen here:
https://theracingforum.co.uk/horse-r … =3&t=95833
Frankie’s comments were a negative, but not as much (imo) as the people made out. Estimate travelled really well throughout the Gold Cup (suggesting she’d be effective at shorter) and put up a career best performance. Had Estimate ran badly and/or needed to be pushed along early – it would’ve been a much stronger negative for Hillstar. ie The market over-compensated for Frankie’s comments making the horse (imo) "value". He pretty much ran how you’d expect from previous form and not like his supposed poor home work suggested. Proving speedy enough to come out on top of the rest and only beaten by an improved stable companion.
Yeah big run from estimate after a lay-off obviously laid out for it… and hillstar ran well when given the office to go!

Yeah presumed they were your "local" tracks ….when betting in these lower grade races do you scale your stakes down appropriately?
There does seem to be a long wait between decent races at the moment don’t seem to remember all these lower grade races all through the week unless there’s a festival… I was sure Thursday and Friday had a better programme of racing than we’re seeing nowadays …still will be busy enough next week

Enjoying the thread keep up the good work!
Hi Ginge,
Quick question, i notice you generally tend only to play in the better class races I believe it is one of your rules i.e. minimum grade 3. One of the reasons of avoiding the lower graded racing is that you find it very difficult to do a tissue.
However with the likes of newbury, Salisbury and Goodwood you seem to discard that rule and have an interest in the lower graded races, i’d be interested as to why you ignore your rule in these instances?
Cheers
Baynet
