If you were tossing a coin, and were quoted 2/1 that it would be a head, that would be value. If you had a 2 horse race, on paper both horses had identical chances and were priced up in the morning at 10/11. The horse ridden by Graham Bradley drifts out to 2/1. Is that now a good bet?

I was chatting to a trader at Stratford on Saturday night. He looks to make £10 per race on in running trading. On Friday night he placed an £800 bet got it wrong, and lost his last 2 months winnings. Shame he didn’t know about the Black Swan Theory.

    Anthony,

Do you mind me asking what your project is?

Musselburgh has been a lucky course for us in the past though Tuffers. Mr Gibbons won on Elopement for us there, and has an unbelievable record, of 8 rides, 6 wins and 2 seconds for us. Perhaps your boy would like to share the horse box with us Alan!? I think the exercise would cost us about a grand, just depends whether we think he has a better chance than a 12/1 shot. I would certainly expect him to be priced up shorter than that with his recent form.

Sloop, Was it the owner or trainer that had £400 on? I thought the way he hung was disconcerting. Maybe he could benefit from a bit of Portway air?
