That is absoloutley gutting, leading up to the kauto and denman cheltenham clash I watched the gold cup legend video so many times! I think about kauto everytime i hear rule the world now. It was a great video and luckily i recorded it on my phone!
This is where racing goes wrong i think, to advertise the sport I think they should be left on there and if anything they should be encouraged!
July 1, 2008 at 17:24 #171186YoungMick, did you really? Awww thanks, feel dead good now haha. Least someone watched them ha. They’re removing quite a few as lot of my favourites have been removed too. Think will look at the other sites that have been mentioned.
July 4, 2008 at 08:31 #171607As you would guess it’s not only racing footage being hit.
From todays FT, could this signal the end of YouTube and the like ?

July 4, 2008 at 10:37 #171626International copyright issues are very complicated, even within the EU their appears to be many discrepencies!!
Look at http://www.onextwo.com and you will find a video archive of all the races shown on Racing UK, this is a German Bookmaker site thus commercially seen they have more to gain than a “free for all` Youtube!!
Sadly when I tried to register, there was a message that they cannot register UK or Irish clients at present.
Unfortunately censorship is a by-product of an economic downturn so we can expect much more of this kind of thing.
BTW is it only replays of the races on the day which are visible on the C4 site or is there a way of viewing the archive?July 6, 2008 at 01:49 #171918A former (?) user and YouTube user with an enormous catalogue of racing, jackane24, had his account suspended this week.
It’s a small world. What does this do for the exposure of Racing UK and British racing to an overseas audience? Minds are not in the right place.
July 6, 2008 at 03:08 #171922I feel as though i’ve been kicked in the stomach from behind
This world is s**t.

Certain people and organisations know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

July 6, 2008 at 10:09 #171948A very sad development at a time when making easy access to the sport should be a priority. Instead of listening to snake oil salesmen from Formula 1, racings supremo’s should be taking themselves off to Hong Kong for a week.
July 14, 2008 at 23:36 #8415If anyone has a copy, could they sum up this article re: the best racing clips on YouTube? I wonder if they’ve got anything to say about copyright banning a la jackane24.
July 15, 2008 at 15:05 #173366It is mentioned, but only in passing- the article’s thrust is what a great resource of racing videos Youtube is. The big news of all the content recently removed seems to have gone completely over the writer’s head.
July 15, 2008 at 15:15 #173367Yes, seems quite strange to write such an article about clips that have been removed. Not seen it so can’t comment. Any mention of the kauto star videos which were rudely removed. huh. Still bitter about it. May write a letter to them
July 15, 2008 at 15:24 #173368I suppose most people know about this but just in case, Salselon put up a link to a great site on another thread earlier today.
http://world-horse-racing.blogspot.com/
Its very bad form that people have to pay for old footage at a time the sport should be encouraging people to get interested in any way possible.
July 15, 2008 at 19:47 #173383This should perk you up KS
Am gutted at the fact i was not their as i had a bout of tonsilitis.
Only time i have cried over missing a horse race.
July 15, 2008 at 20:19 #173388Thank you loads!!! Least you got to see it in the end!
August 10, 2008 at 12:17 #176613this has been mentioned in today’s Tattenham Corner in The Observer today..it also says that a lot of greyhound races have been removed since the article was written..the short sightedness of people in the racing industry is beyond me at times…..
August 10, 2008 at 12:50 #176620kingpresa, the man who provided us with French racing, who returned after his account was suspended as whr06, had that account suspended last week as well.
You can’t get exposure like this for your sport without forking out your own dollars.
August 10, 2008 at 15:24 #176639Wow! Thanks, Salselon and Cavellino Rampante.
