I see Sir Tom has gone for Saphir Du Rheu
January 29, 2015 at 21:33 #503371I see Sir Tom has gone for Saphir Du Rheu
Sure has Joe,he’ll claim a 9/1 Winner and I’ll claim a 33/1 Winner.
January 30, 2015 at 07:43 #503384How did you manage to get 33s? Not long ago you were waxing lyrical that this was a shoe-in for the RSA?
February 2, 2015 at 15:20 #503874I would advise against beat that lads, not publishing my reasons but will advise over PM why(if anyone was considering getting into him)
February 5, 2015 at 15:02 #504191At fishers cross 25/1 is way over-priced in my opinion.
Watched his last race again and very pleased
I will be having a fair bit each way at that priceFebruary 9, 2015 at 18:41 #504845More Of That
misses his intended prep run at Haydock on Saturday because he’s said to be "Not quite ready for what will likely be testing ground"
It’s up in the air whether he will have a race before Cheltenham or not now. Hardly ideal for a horse heading the betting and I’ll be against him big time at as low as 3/1.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I really like Saphir Du Rheu for this race. I thought its form over hurdles last year was of a very good standard. I was on Whisper at 25s for Coral Cup off the back of my opinion on this horse.
Didn’t quite work out chasing, but it think his performance in the Cleeve Hurdle has been underrated . Yes he may have been receiving weight from Reve DE Sivola, but this is a very tough horse to pass and Twiston Davies rode Saphir very patiently to get the horse up with a bit to spare imo.
This was clearly Plan B for this horse, I accept the horse will be fit, but it has turned up at short notice for a Grade 2 race and not had that hard a race. Nichols said he didn’t have him fully wound up on the day and I think there is a good bit more to come. It’s my best bet of the meeting.
February 9, 2015 at 21:36 #504876Seeyouatmidnight is set to re-appear in either the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso on Thursday or the Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday. He’s aimed at the World Hurdle and I’ve had a few bob at 85 on Betfair this week. Sandy Thomson’s gelding has had a minor setback or two but I understand he is now in decent nick. We will know more by the end of the week.

February 11, 2015 at 17:43 #505121More of that very likely to miss the race after bursting a blood vessel this morning on the gallops.
Wonder if team Mullins are tempted to switch Annies sights to this considering they have Glens Melody and Morning Run for the mares hurdle..

Couteau, when the entries for the Cleeve hurdle came out it was a tip in itself he would be entered for the World hurdle.Betfair had plenty 34’s about his chances and me being the King of foresight took it.Obviously I thought this fellow would be an RSA horse at the start of the season but having witnessed his attempts at jumping fences my confidence in him diminished somewhat so it was only a natural decision to take and Betfair is brilliant for helping us to cover our Asses.
February 11, 2015 at 23:44 #505173Good work, fella. I doth my cap. Can’t believe Betfair were had him so big.
February 13, 2015 at 15:06 #750745Topped up ew on the Monk.
I also managed to get half a point on Annie Power at 43-1.
I have been looking at both this and the mares race, Arguably Mullins has a good chance to nick the mares with the improving Morning Run.
He has little top notch fodder for the world hurdle. AP placed last year, If I was the owner I’d want another crack, especially as it looks just as open.
Heard it here first chaps.
February 14, 2015 at 12:16 #750888According to the Racing Post today it looks like Ruby’s decided Annie will go Mares Hurdle instead of another crack at this..
Stating lack of match fitness may be tough to overcome in such a testing race like world hurdle….turn up in the Mares instead and stroll round for victory!
February 14, 2015 at 12:32 #750893It’s because he knows Briar Hill has had his pre season warm up and is ready to rumble tomorrow…….
Blackbeard to conquer the World
February 14, 2015 at 15:34 #750925Not for the first time At Fisher’s Cross was bitterly disappointing today. He seems a shadow of the horse who beat The New One and then won at Cheltenham. It doesn’t seem to stop him going off hot favourite though.
He won’t be hot favourite next time though, as he’s 50/1 for the World Hurdle. That’s the price my cuddy Tea For Two should be for the Albert Bartlett but is only 25/1.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 14, 2015 at 18:29 #750941I’m surprised they continue to allow AFC to run at all. For the past two seasons I rarely see him not obviously hurting, trying to change legs galloping, or land in some sort of way that isn’t painful.
His arthritis problems are well documented.
February 14, 2015 at 18:30 #750942And, BTW, as the skittles tumble, Rock on Ruby looks well worth the gamble that he’ll get the trip.
