“You can be the fastest but someone clips you and it’s game over.”
This is just like the Constitution Hill thread. All we need is some anti-Henderson vitriol to make it complete.
February 17, 2026 at 18:32 #1755051Why hasn’t Henderson sent him to St Moritz to race on the snow? What’s he afraid of?
February 17, 2026 at 18:33 #1755053I had to feel sorry for Atle Lie McGrath yesterday. He was in prime position to win the slalom but it all went wrong.
A cruel blow for the lad, on top of losing his grandfather last week. The classless Swiss coach celebrating his misfortune right under his nose wouldn’t have helped his mood either.
But his reaction, throwing his ski poles over the fence, taking off his skis and then stomping off through the snow to the woods was brilliant. It showed he cared.
I would have awarded him a gold medal just for that.

Whereas Hendo actually explaining his reasoning shows he’s a lightweight.
Double standards? Nah.
February 18, 2026 at 13:56 #1755125Take a bow, Rebecca Morrison. Talk about coolness under pressure and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat!
Going well for the men as well: 6-0 up after three ends, largely thanks to the American skip giving the impression he couldn’t hit the proverbial barn door.
February 18, 2026 at 17:43 #1755138I have just seen the replay, has to be one of the shots of the entire Games.
Great win for the men and as good a pair of results as they could have hoped for with their rivals each now having to beat one of the top two teams. All we need is a 2/5 or a 1/4 shot to win to qualify, easy right?
February 18, 2026 at 17:52 #1755140The men’s team should be OK. I can’t see both Italy and Norway winning and I am sure Switzerland and Canada will want to go into the semi finals on a win and full of confidence.
Italy sort of blew it. I know Canada are a strong side but the Italians were 3-0 up and had to back themselves to win from that position. They looked quite demoralised at the end.
February 18, 2026 at 18:05 #1755141At least we are now playing the bottom two sides in the women’s although looks like a few other results need to go the right way. I assume that having beaten most of the other teams who could end up with a 5-4 record is helpful.
February 18, 2026 at 18:40 #1755144Fingers crossed results go our way in curling , we looked dead and buried before today but we now have a chance
February 18, 2026 at 19:25 #1755147Another great shot pulled off by Rebecca Morrison. 6-1 at the half way stage.
February 19, 2026 at 20:13 #1755241Perhaps a turning point for the men’s team there. Hopefully can capitalise now.
A massive shame for the women’s team but hopefully they will be back. Given that they were 66/1 shots, they probably did better than expected.
February 19, 2026 at 21:24 #1755247On to the gold medal match on Saturday..
February 19, 2026 at 22:26 #1755257Brilliant win. Finally showing us why they came in as the top side. They’ve pulled out what they have needed to under pressure, so far at least.
February 19, 2026 at 23:01 #1755258Bruce Mouat seems to have found his form. It looked like he was struggling to a certain extent in some of the round robin games but he was on his A game today.
February 20, 2026 at 11:40 #1755271Been a great watch fingers crossed for tomorrow
February 21, 2026 at 21:39 #1755817Silver again. One bad end was the difference there.
February 23, 2026 at 09:38 #1756006That was an enjoyable couple of weeks. As would appear to be the case with other correspondents here I watched lots of the Curling and found the tactics employed fascinating.
The stones used at every Olympics since 1924 have been made by a company in Scotland

Also enjoyed the elegant long-track Speed Skating and bits and pieces of the sledging events.
Never been much interested in regulation Alpine Skiing and Ski Jumping, and find the more recently introduced Freestyle variations too contrived, skilful though they undoubtedly are.
All will now be forgotten about until 2030
