Like the look of that valryian steel
Looked a monster of a horse
Big galloper who will surely improve massively for the run as was very green
Gone into my notebook as one to follow
June 2, 2020 at 11:07 #1489369Great start to the opening of racing for Frankel, Frankly Darling was impressive and Valaryian Steel, who was named after The Game of Thrones where his name was used to kill white walkers for those that watched it.

PS, if you want to see the 2 races from yesterday you can go to my twitter page @frankelprogeny.
These Frankels aren't bad are they?! Valyrian Steel is by the @JuddmonteFarms superstar, cost €600,000 as a yearling, and wins nicely on debut for Roger Varian at @NewcastleRaces… pic.twitter.com/AjWz2tTE7b

June 3, 2020 at 09:15 #1489453I note Charlie Appleby has one tomorrow at HQ Magical Land out of Mistrusting(Shamardal) she was touched off on debut (the dam) at Newmarket. Winning four of her seven starts ending with a listed win over 6 at Newmarket again.

June 14, 2020 at 16:08 #1490679Another winner and 3 seconds today but I can’t help getting cross with jockeys who still haven’t learnt how to ride these Frankel’s. At times I wish I were an in-running punter because it is so easy to call a Frankel race. If they go a decent gallop, they’ll probably win; if they crawl, they’ll almost certainly get tapped for toe. Bonne Idee JUST got away with it today but she should have been MILES better than that field. Call To The Wind was given a shocker and even dear old Franny Norton allowed Kings Advice too be outsprinted by that old veteran Red Verdon. Promise you I’m not talking through my pocket as I didn’t have a bet today but, as a Frankel fan, it still frustrating. Just watch Frankie when he rides them. He either leads if there is no pace or he has them handy and commits a long way out. The Frankel’s will gallop all day long but they don’t quicken. PLEASE…. Someone tell the jockeys!!!!

June 14, 2020 at 16:33 #1490681I’m with you there Joni, it’s very frustrating at times. 4 seconds now, it was the same with Quadrilateral just did not understand the tactics, never rated Roger Charlton as a trainer anyway.
All comers, all ground, all beaten
June 14, 2020 at 16:37 #1490682I fully agree Joni, particularly the ride on Kings Advice was crappy
And yes Chaos, Jason Watson is still a bit green to treat Quad right..June 15, 2020 at 16:07 #1490776Not exactly where we might be looking for Frankel winners this week, but a Class 4 handicap at Pontefract was a race that provided another notable Frankel winner today. Frankelio, a son Restiadargent who was third in Black Caviar’s Diamond Jubilee, benefitted from a year in Micky Hammond’s care, and a gradual drop in the weights. The Racing Post this morning did not think highly of his chances and had him last of eleven in the betting forecast at 33/1, so it might have surprised a few people to see him start at 4/1 second favourite and run a splendid race. Might this merit an accolade as big as would training a winner at Royal Ascot later this week?
June 15, 2020 at 16:59 #1490785I saw that he was running last night MV and had a look at his form in France. He was thrown in on that and I made a mental note to see if there were any market moves for him today. I only remembered at 2.25 – 5 minutes too late!!! Cursing myself now
