Robert Mugabe deserves a place, more so than several of the declarations.

I would suggest the Roman emperor Caligula is a deserving entry, but keep a close eye on him as he may appoint a horse to run in his place.

I’m sure there’s a YDTM about Caligula but he might not have a whole episode to himself. It’s a good job I’m in a self imposed semi isolation because every now and again I find something that makes me laugh out loud wherever I am whenever I think of it and, for some reason the words Fictional Pig currently have that effect on me.

Romanian Dictator Nicolae Ceausescu (yes I Googled the spelling) and wife Elena who had the best send off ever recorded after their 42 year reign ended.

Speculation that Cormack15 has attracted plenty of recent money for this, albeit he requires supplementing.

Caligula even got a name check in a song by The Smiths:

“What she asked of me at the end of the day/
    Caligula would have blushed.”

From “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now.”

Hideki Tōjō – politician/general of the Imperial Japanese Army

The above was responsible for the deaths of an estimated 5m civilians. War crimes -including massacre of prisoners of war and a lot more to boot.

I have to agree. Some additional form studying required, particularly on the intriguing looking Japanese raider.

Some would say Vladimir Putin (not me though just in case he reads these boards).

Why can’t we have this guy? Some say he was not democratically elected, although not me. He’s also wanting further terms which under Russian election rules at present isn’t allowed.

Okay, adding another one to this National field: the guy from China, but I don’t want to write his name down. Just in case I won’t be posting here any longer, you know who got me.

When I read Oliver Cromwell, I was thinking Gavin Cromwell… But you never know.

I would also like to make a few additional entries:

    1. Basil Fawlty had dictatorship written all over his face
    2. Hynkel aka The Great Dictator (portrayed by Charlie Chaplin)
    3. Ernest Stavro Blofeld – still a living dictating legend I’d say
    4. The bloke who ran the FIFA from 1998 – 2015 – Sepp Blatter
    5. IOC president Thomas Bach – runs it just like a dictator
    6. The brothers who own Gigginstown (badly handicapped)

If there will be a field of 40 in the end, a few of mine would pretty well in at the weights.

As we are now bang on the safety factor for a maximum field, after which I will allow four reserves before balloting out commences, I am regrettably only accepting declarations from non-fictious characters with an established authoritarian dictatorship track record from now on.
