Happy New Year to you and yours, too, Tank.
And to gamble, 20 years after I used to impersonate an invisible rabbit to keep
him (and myself) amused on the Flutter forum: I have never been a team player, I have always been a control freak and I have always lived life on my own terms, so it’s no good judging what I might have done by the standards of others.I have a roof over my head, eat hot meals when I want them and money is never a barrier to anything I ever want to do.
I have always been puzzled as to why anyone could ever want more than that.

Yes it is some time ago well two decades and I don’t suppose either of our basic natures have changed much in that long time.
It is a very good philosophy that you have – I admit to being a glass half empty more or less my whole life. Like your control freakery I do not suppose the glass will ever be half full despite my seeing the folly of the half empty and how it can destroy happiness, or should I rather write contentment.
My mother lived with this regret but she seemed to change in the last few months before she died. The brain is not logical and I would gladly change mine for a programme as long as I could keep that element of free will to override decisions.
A Happy New Year to you and I never understood why you collected so many enemies or such strong reaction over the years. That also seemed to defy logic.

Just been thinking about poor old Moe(hat) who’s probably going to stay hiding under her bed till 2022
I have had a bit of a joke about her and her irrational fear of the Corona Flu – I’m sure she hates me for it, but I mean no harm and would be good to see her posting again.
So sad to see so many people on social media fighting each other over this Corona lark and blaming each other. Divide and rule seems to be the Government plan. How I hate Boris and even more that absolute *** Hancock with his pretendy tears. God forgive me for saying it.. but if he died tomorrow it would be a day too late. Him being ‘one of us’ racing fans cuts no mustard in this case.Give us a wave, Moe
January 8, 2021 at 21:58 #1516907In the late 1990s both Boris Johnson and I worked at 1, Canada Square, Canary Wharf, in the London Docklands.
He for The Daily Telegraph, me for The Independent.
One lunchtime, while making short work of a La Reine with no olives but plenty of Garlic and Chilli oil, I watched Johnson take fully five minutes to figure out how the revolving door at the entrance worked.
Every time he approached it, someone emerged from the other side, leaving it spinning, and Johnson recoiled from it as if it were a wild animal about to attack him.
He did not gingerly enter it until it had been stationary for fully a minute.
There was no gallery audience to play to, and in that instant I realised the buffoon persona was no persona – it’s who he was.
And still is.
True story.

Nice story, Chief.
I have until recently regarded him as a bumbling, blustering buffoon. However, I now see him as someone with major blood on his hands – and I trust that he will pay for this at some point in time. Hope I live long enough to see it
And yes, I do realize that he’s working within the law – but the way things are going there might well be a civil war and he would be a rather large target- SPLAT!

Moe, Fleetwood Mac are on Sky Arts now freeview 11. It’s oft-repeated on there though in case you miss it. Great free Chanel it is
January 9, 2021 at 22:34 #1517071I think the only time Johnson would have been an effective Prime Minister was in the “you’ve never had it so good” Harold Macmillan era.
But then it’s easy to govern during a Pandemic-free, peacetime, period of economic prosperity.
A man less cut out to handle a crisis it would be hard to imagine.
