I couldn’t face waiting for developments live last night but with some trepidation switched the radio on around 6am and then breathed a sigh of relief.
Good news for all and excellent news if you’re an Iranian civilian. How this ceasefire progresses is of course anyone’s guess, particularly with regard to the Strait of Hormuz.
Kudos to the Pakistani mediators.
The reality is that Trump’s military are refusing his orders and the most senior person has been sacked. The USA is in disarray. They have suffered a large nunber of casualties, but these numbers have been hidden from the American public. When these numbers come out it will be the end of Trump. The Iranians have won this war, but of course the madman will say the opposite.
So value in your world what are the large numbers the US have lost? For me any numbers on both sides is to many, I really think you have a load of cars going around in your bonce and they’ve all going the wrong way round

Nwalton, you are being stupid. The casualties on both sides runs to thousands and not millions. I agree that just one casualty is one too many. Note the word is ‘too’ not ‘to’.
You must not be taken in by US propaganda; there has to be similar casualties on both sides.I believe this current war is effectively over. Trump agreed to negotiate on Iran’s terms, not his. This war has cost the USA a fortune.

The USA and Israel will not emerge well from this war and both could do with some regime change of their own but a cautious welcome to the ceasefire although cracks already showing.
Israel have been given carte blanche for the appalling genocide in Gaza. This war won’t change things.

Quite prepared to believe the true figure is somewhat higher, 100 at the very most perhaps; but 1,000s is for the birds and the most extreme of conspiracy theorists.
I’d be intrigued to learn how the alleged 1,000s have died, considering that the USA have waged war only from the skies, or by remote ordnance launched from the gulf states. The USAF must have no planes left

A very strange dream last night after which at 3am I just had to look at my phone to see what was going on. The dream consisted of myself and a few others taking Trump to the International court on war crimes. Let’s get this right. I said “thousands on both sides” not thousands of Americans. Given the destruction of Israel the numbers killed there must well exceed the alleged official numbers.
Trump will have to walk away and if Isreal refuse to honour commitments they will be isolated. They cannot survive then.

Ahead of Hungary’s parliamentary elections in April, a unit of Russia’s SVR last month expressed concern over declining support for Orban.
In an internal SVR report, operatives proposed drastic measures under the codename “turning point,” including the possibility of “staging an assassination attempt on Viktor Orban” in order to “fundamentally change the paradigm of the election campaign,” WP states.
Such an incident would shift the campaign’s focus from socio-economic issues to emotional themes such as national security and the stability of the political system, it adds.
Polls show that Orban is trailing opposition Tisa party leader Peter Magyar, a former member of his Fidesz party.
According to European security sources, Russian support for Orban also includes social media campaigns portraying him as the sole defender of Hungary’s sovereignty.
Certain narratives have reportedly been spread through Russian diplomats in Budapest, who are said to have cooperated with pro-government media.
The SVR document also proposes a strategy for Orban to present his rule as a guarantor of peace and stability, while his opponent would be portrayed as a “puppet of Brussels,” WP reports.
At the same time, there are indications that Russian operatives have participated in campaigns to discredit opposition candidates, including the spread of disinformation and manipulated content”.
This is in The Serbian Times. I googled it because I’d heard somewhere ( news, podcast not sure?). But I immediately thought of Trumps assassination attempt ( even though he obviously wasn’t president at the time) and how he gained popularity from it. And that the guy who attempted it was taken out and couldn’t be interviewed. Plus the fact that Vance has been in Hungary drumming up support for Orban.
