Why not just go and work for Al Jazeera.Haven’t really followed this over the past few days but to me it seems Iran are holding all the decent cards. A trickle of boats through the Strait whilst Iran receive a toll for each boat that passes? Israel meanwhile are surely breaking the ceasefire by bombing Lebanon.
There have been no winners in this war, amongst the main players at least, but Iran certainly knows it holds some cards now. An absolute embarrassment and failure for the USA and little better for Israel.
Never forget that much of the right in this country wanted us straight in behind the USA and Israel without a second thought. They are the first ones complaining about the price rises and they’ll be the first ones complaining when the refugees come knocking. Two blindingly obvious consequences of something they supported and not a single one of them will own it.
Richard 88, you are so right. Starmer is doing his best by hosting European leaders to see if they can come up with a solution. In war time, as this is, you would expect the opposition to support the government. But not the ultra right and far right. They just moan and groan and do everything they can to make things worse. They are pathetic.

We go nowhere. US have won. The Iranian military has been obliterated and the enemy defeated according to Trump. Back to square one as if the war has never happened. Israel to continue bombing innocent people.

It seems to me that neither side were particularly interested in holding this chin-wag but thought they better go through the motions by putting on a ‘marathon’ ‘all night’ show for the world’s media to get excited about, before effing-off home the morning after to catch up on some sleep.

‘USA has won’. No so, no side has won so we are all still in the ‘wet and sticky’, The real winner is China; doesn’t waste money by starting illegal wars but works behind the scenes strategically. When it comes to the crunch the USA cannot win; China will never allow Iran to be obliterated.
