it’s often found in a horses analysis on the racing post website. Rose Bloosem’s first run for example.
June 17, 2009 at 20:22 #234718Just to get the answer in first, it means someone can’t type.
& pound ; (without the spaces) is the html code for a pound symbol.
Now the witticisms can begin…
June 17, 2009 at 21:06 #234737What, you mean as in someone typing Rose Bloosem instead of Rose Blossom?
June 17, 2009 at 22:23 #234761need to keep off the weed me thinks.
June 18, 2009 at 00:43 #234811Yes, it means £ ….
For some reason the software converts it into a&phound even when you type in "£"
But I’ll have a word with the IT experts tomorrow and try to stop it happening

Thanks for spotting this, blackfingernailErr, if you’re going to have a word with their ‘IT experts’ Lee, there’s quite a few other problems you might mention – would you like me to start a new thread?
June 18, 2009 at 11:26 #234870I will ask if they’re open to suggestions!
June 18, 2009 at 13:42 #234898The £ problem is being sorted and should be corrected when the next update takes place on Monday, hope that helps
June 23, 2009 at 11:23 #235923Pleased to say this has been fixed now (in Results/Analysis on racingpost.com); it has backdated so all earlier cases have been updated too. Do let me know if you spot anything else that needs tweaking or explaining and I’ll do my best to get it sorted, cheers
June 23, 2009 at 13:41 #235934excellent, thanks.

Thanks, Lee – your starter for ten:
1, When are they going to sort out the racecards so that weights and ratings are no longer printed over each other (mainly on NH cards)?
2, Why do we no longer get standard times and comparisons for foreign form in a horse’s form profile? They are still on the database, but it’s daft having to search for them separately.
3, Why does the card for an individual race no longer tell us which meeting the race is at?More to follow!
June 23, 2009 at 17:03 #235955Thanks reet hard, am at sunny Brighton doing close ups for the Post today, will take a look at those and report back
June 24, 2009 at 20:53 #236168Any chance that the Big-Race Entries page can tell us at what forfeit stage the current card is showing?
Also, when you click on a trainers’ entries, it does not give details of horses engaged in 2yo races (the sales races for the ’09 season at the moment), or in next years Derby – can this be done?
June 24, 2009 at 21:06 #236171Noted thanks, will report back!
June 24, 2009 at 21:49 #236175Two RP.com Form page queries, Lee
6) In the past when I pointed to a horse’s name on the full race record
page I could swear the stallion/dam details automatically appeared in the
bubble. "Horse- click to view details" now appears. Can we have the
Stallion/dam details back? It’s well worth seeing who the sire is without
having to click into full details. There are only so many clicks the online
punter can tolerate even with broadband!
7) After clicking into, say, fifteen or twenty race page details I find this
option freezes and I have to log out completely from my PC to enable
access to full race details again. Does the RP by any chance limit the
number of races punters can access at any given time or is this someting
to do with my PC?

I suspect it may to be with your PC and the amount of space available for cache storage.
June 24, 2009 at 22:22 #236179The weirdest thing for me is just clicking on a horse’s name on the racecard, instead of getting its form, you get taken to Betfred, WillHill, Sportingbet etc etc.
