Not talking about Crizzy Its Wallace who made the remarks and he aint new, Im sick of people on forums telling everyone else what to write, where to write it and they forum’s going down the pan etc, its time people realised others have different points of view and talk about light hearted subjects.
This happened to me on another forum (not horse racing where someone decided I dont like what been said and it leads to stupid posts (like mine here i admit)peole starting to get annoyed with others if you dont like a post dont read it and read one which interests you.
Being on a forum should be fun not having to watch what you say in case someone thinks its not part of the is section.
A Better idea if you dont like whats being said START A TOPIC UP THAT YOU DO WANT TO TALK ABOUT
September 7, 2007 at 13:11 #113872As a fairly recent member of this forum, I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I welcome all strands of opinion – whether serious or light-hearted. As my old teacher used to say (on a daily basis
), "it would be a dull old world if we were all the same and all shared the same opinions."The one thing everyone has in common is a love of horse-racing.

September 7, 2007 at 13:34 #113874So, I’ll start. Crizzy is a Primary School Teacher….(for my sins)
so Crizzy, just out of curiosity, if a young child in your class told you that their parents bet on horse racing and this child, he or she, knows the winner of the 3.30 at Kempton, what do you say? as a primary school teacher with an obvious affinity for the game, do you show a genuine degree of interest, or because of moral teaching obligations take a negative line, or a neutral one perhaps. It’s just that a lot of us I think develop an interest when very young, which of course may lead to a gambling addiction later on. Just wondered.
September 7, 2007 at 14:03 #113876I work for the British Space Agency.
I am currently involved in a new landing system for ‘Beagle 3’. The new system contains: 3 tin cans, a bit of string, a bent coat hanger, an old washing up bottle and sticky back plastic, along with a ‘Duel Particle Sub-Photon Fluctuation Unit’.
Dr Pillinger is currently working on a new ‘Cider’ Injection Fuel System mind.
September 7, 2007 at 14:49 #113878I also do a lot of sports writing for Betfair…..People will work out who I am sooner or later I am sure.
Good grief, it’s Hugh McIllvaney!
September 7, 2007 at 15:11 #113880Start a thread Wallace
September 7, 2007 at 15:22 #113881Up till Goodwood, I played the game full time. Now I live in a bus shelter. Hope this contributes!

I agree with most of what Steve says except that I think topics should be posted in the relevant section. Forums should have a mixture of serious debate and humour and I’d say the balance has been just about right on here recently.
I really couldn’t give a fk who anyone "is"
Just judge each post on its merits. Yours was a rather daft one MikkyMouse.
What do I do? – crave anonymity
Maybe I am missing something here but isn’t it obvious that MikkyMo73 is only joking with his comment?

TRF really is in decline..
I remember when this place was for discussion of horse racing. Now it becomes more like the the Betfair forum every week. An influx of new members intent on filling the place with hundreds of meaningless posts does little for the quality of debate this place was once known for.
Well if you dont like it go elsewhere you dont own the forum and if people dont wish to discuss a topic it will drop down the list quickly, lighten up would you rather it had about two comments a week, this forum is fast moving and shows that a lot of people are interested and Im sure Mccormack will tell you he wants people to leave posts and enjoy reading different subjects
Wallace may not own the forum, but he has every right to express his views without being told to go elsewhere by one who has contributed far less to the forum’s current wellbeing.
Make no mistake, this forum is what it is today because of the knowledgeable and informative membership it has built up over the years, and Wallace is just one of those who have recently expressed disquiet about some of the recent dross from a small percentage of its newer members.
Horse racing forums come and go, this is one is better and has been around longer than most because of the quality of its discussion, and it does none of us any good to see those standards eventually diluted.September 7, 2007 at 20:01 #113916always the same crap on every forum from the established ones you havent been on long enough, what right have you got to say that etc cant stand new people having an opinion instead of this use the other thread to say what is wrong and how it can rectified. I am perfectly entitled to say my opinion as someone whose been on 10 years.
If theres a problem with the current posts Im sure McCormack will let us know
September 7, 2007 at 20:34 #113924Who is this McCormack fellow?
Whatever the ails of TRF, it’s clearly all his fault, and I for one reckon he should be stripped naked, painted maroon, and put on the next bus to Kelso, sporting a sandwich-board with the legend “You’re All Sheep Shagging Ba*stards” on it.
That usually learns them good.
Anyhoo……..returning to the topic in question, I run my own seal-clubbing business, and we are currently initiating a hostile take-over of clivex’s inferior outfit.
Cheers

September 7, 2007 at 23:36 #113966Heck, I didn’t mean to start such comments, Sorry. I started a question in the wrong place. I am new and understand that racing comments belong in that place. It was a question I wanted to ask that’s all. I opened a can of worms it seems. I know now where such questions belong. My class do not know of my passion for racing but I did teach a girl aged 7 last year who’s dad owned a 2 yr old that won at Goodwood. She knew so much about our sport it was amazing. She would bring in clips from the RP to show me. It was in her family and they are lovely people. Sorry for annoying some of you. I like this forum and would not have botherd starting this question if I knew it cause such anger in some places. On the other hand. some of you liked it, so there you go. I’m off to do all my marking
September 7, 2007 at 23:39 #113967Don’t worry crizzy, storm in a tea cup.
