cheers for that steve
April 1, 2016 at 20:47 #1240542Wesley Ward was quoted thus this evening:-
“Create A Dream came to me and started breezing and from what I’ve seen so far, she’d just jump right right up there with all the ones I’ve brought over to Ascot in the past, at least in the mornings,” he said.
“It just remains to be seen what she’ll do in the afternoon!”
Racegoers at Royal Ascot last summer could scarcely believe their eyes when they saw the size of Acapulco in the parade ring but Ward is not anticipating providing such a shock on Town Moor on Saturday.
“She wouldn’t look like Acapulco [in terms of her size],” he said.
“She’s a European pedigree and probably has more of a European look to her. She’s a tidy horse and she’s just a beautiful filly.”
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 1, 2016 at 21:27 #1240549May be not the size, but suspect she’ll be “mature” for her age.
Value Is EverythingApril 1, 2016 at 21:32 #1240550But surely 5/4 is a bad price for an unraced two year old from the US !!
Admittedly it could absolutely hack up but where is the value??
The race is an absolute guess!!Minimal stakes and watch with interest guys!

Can’t see that anyone can bet with any confidence at all on any race Mr Ward runs a two year old over here Raymo. No form student has any idea whether the Ward horse is value or not… And therefore no form student has any idea whether any rival to the Ward horse is value or not.
I am not going to have any financial interest in the race, but I’ll be shouting home anything that beats the visitors.
Value Is EverythingApril 2, 2016 at 12:51 #1240666New Trier is alarmingly weak at Kempton. Opened 13/8 last night, now available at 5/1. Tomily is the one for money there, 8/1 last night into as low as 2/1.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 2, 2016 at 13:02 #1240667Springybark Creek paid Sutter County a handsome compliment showing the best speed and keeping on well.
The Wesley Ward runner was utterly useless. She didn’t get away that well and when pushed along went rapidly backwards to finish thrashed in second last, only beating the horse who seemed to either go wrong early or was totally mulish and seemed like it might be pulled up.
People backing these unraced horses, particularly at short odds, should be seeing a shrink for help.
New Trier? Looked more like New Non Trier there

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Now The Lost Lion is the silly price at a shade of odds on.
I must admit, I wouldn’t run my horse on that sort of ground first time up. It’s probably too soft for Don Poli out there.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

The Last Lion was a stupid price today. Why these people back at 8/15 when 11/8 was available earlier just shows what slaves to the market they are.
I thought Deningy would probably have won with a clear run. He almost got there even after being hampered by the disqualified The Last Lion.
Create A Dream went into 6/1 second favourite for the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot but she doesn’t appeal to me at those odds. Lady Aurelia looks much faster to my eyes if she comes over and I just wonder how strong today’s form will end up.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 28, 2016 at 05:00 #1243766What an interesting race that was. The ground was quite quick at the time of the first race, closer to Good than Good to Soft.
Create A Dream did not look particularly big in the paddock, but she was certainly green and joined Daningy in making quite a racket pre-race. In contrast, Brocklesby winner The Last Lion was the picture of professionalism. Create A Dream does have the trademark Wesley Ward muscle definition with powerful hind quarters. Again, you could say the same about Daningy.
In the race itself, Daningy was terribly unlucky and put in a huge performance despite being green and losing at least four lengths in ground/momentum when wiped out by The Last Lion. Create A Dream was holding on well at the line and may have found more if tackled by the closer, but it’s hard to be too dogmatic about that.
Both the winner and upgraded second should improve from this experience on the evidence of the parade ring. The form of the Brocklesby hasn’t worked out very well but The Last Lion is still a good yardstick given his precocious maturity. An even faster surface is sure to help both.
It’s worth noting that Richard Hannon and Potensis Bloodstock (who won this race last year with Log Out Island) had a newcomer entered until the five-day stage. I forget the name, but that will probably be an above-average horse when we see it.
