She’s right.
The more the central and left vote is fragmented, the more chance there is that the RWNJ element wins.
As she says, the interests of the country as a whole should always take precedence.
May 15, 2026 at 17:56 #1766884Does Burnham propose proportional representation? And would he still want it if leader of a party with a huge majority? Corbyn says Burnham isn’t as radical as people seem to think he is. Having said that I think I love Caroline Lucas even more than I did before ( if that is possible!). Pure class.
May 15, 2026 at 18:44 #1766888“Corbyn says Burnham isn’t as radical as people seem to think he is.”
And for once Corbyn is correct.
Since when did Burnham become a standard bearer for the hard left? When he launched his dismal campaign to be leader in 2015 (and lost to Corbyn), he presented himself as some sort of Blairite.
May 15, 2026 at 19:01 #1766890What a state this party must be in if Andy Burnham is being painted as some sort of messiah to save the country.
The more I know the less I understand.
May 15, 2026 at 19:15 #1766891Could be worse: Farage could be being painted as the messiah.
We all know he’s just a very naughty (and racist, and lying, and hypocritical, and inept, and paid for by Putin, ex-City) boy.
Well, not all of us. Some people are still too stupid/ignorant to assimilate the facts.
May 15, 2026 at 20:04 #1766894Betfair have introduced Restore Britain into the betting, the party led by former Reform MP Rupert Lowe.
As far as I can glean this outfit haven’t yet definitely decided to stand but if they do it could mean Reform will lose votes to them, though I reckon it would be unlikely to be as large as the Labour vote loss to Green.
May 15, 2026 at 21:05 #1766897I have a friend ( well acquaintance really) who is all over Restore. A farmers daughter who is angry with the way that the government have treated farmers and how they’re going to ban trail hunting but still allow animals to be killed in abattoirs without stunning. A friend of mine always used to point out how there is a lot of talk about the urban poor but forget about the rural poor. I met someone at the races a few months ago who worked at a hunting yard looking after the horses and I have worried ever since at the thought that she might lose her job.
May 15, 2026 at 22:38 #1766903I’m still waiting for a Reform supporter to explain how a Farage government would improve their life.
Restore are even more one-dimensional… if that’s possible.
May 15, 2026 at 22:49 #1766906It would sort of improve mine because I’d retire.
May 15, 2026 at 23:13 #1766910They might not let you retire!

I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysMay 16, 2026 at 05:24 #1766920How would they stop me? I just stop working, live off savings for a while when they are in government. I’d be determined to give them as little tax as possible.
May 16, 2026 at 10:02 #1766936Ve haf vays of making you vork!

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
May 16, 2026 at 13:09 #1766967But Farage and his cronies will all be far better off.
May 16, 2026 at 13:54 #1766970“We’ll be bankrupt…..financially …”
Erm….we’re not that far off, now
May 16, 2026 at 14:06 #1766973Which is where 47 years of neoliberalism has got us.
