There wasa bit of a word on another forum for Operation Houdini..someone involved with the horse said they wouldn’t put anyone off backing him. Interesting what you said about Coe, Mr Fist; that has been mentioned elsewhere as well. Always worth checking out what Miss Williams is running at the bottom end of the handicap; being a very canny lady [her, not me].

With Harry Skelton booked, a nice racing weight, plenty of class and a pleasing reappearance under his belt I’ve backed Nozic at 33/1.
December 23, 2009 at 13:50 #265100Nicholls seemed to be leaning towards the Rowland Meyrick with Nozic, MG, so mind how you go.
December 23, 2009 at 13:52 #265101not entered in that and agree wins the welsh hard-held eating polos and doing a dance routine winking at the lollipop
December 23, 2009 at 13:53 #265102My apologies – I could have sworn I’d read he was looking at the RM for Nozic.
December 23, 2009 at 13:55 #265105probably was till he saw sense!
December 23, 2009 at 13:57 #265106He was definitely entered and jocked-up (Skelton) for the Rowland Meyrick, but obviously fancied him more for Chepstow.
December 23, 2009 at 14:57 #265117Le Beau Bai looks short enough for me but is definitely going the right way and the trip and soft ground should hold no fears. Wont be far away with a clear round. Silver By Nature won well LTO at Carlisle and if jumping well could be in the shake up as could one who finished a long way behind him at Carlisle , Merigo. He won the Eiger on heavy last year and if in that form could go close.
December 23, 2009 at 23:18 #265224Damn I never got round to having that bet on Kornati Kid and I’ve just noticed his price has come in. Has he been tipped by someone? Could’ve got 20’s with WH yesterday.
December 23, 2009 at 23:47 #265234With Ruby over at the Lexus meeting who will be riding The Tother One?
December 23, 2009 at 23:52 #265238Christian Williams?
December 23, 2009 at 23:55 #265241Christian Williams?
Completely forgot about Williams!
Thought for a minute they might opt for Schofield to use the claim
December 24, 2009 at 00:06 #265244I suppose its possible that Nicholls might need Williams at Leopardstown for What A Friend if Ruby rides Cooldine.
I have a feeling that Willie will want to use Townend on him though given that he is likely to be riding him at Cheltanham.

Ruby’s already been given the Cooldine option. He’s selected him over What A Friend
December 24, 2009 at 00:49 #265249Thanks HTH, I hadn’t heard that

No problem.
Found it slightly strange that PN has supplemented What A Friend and then Ruby jumps off in favour of Cooldine.
Maybe Sam Thomas will ride What A Friend?
December 25, 2009 at 00:09 #265416Days since last run last 10 Welsh National winners
34,28,39,46,37,21,20,26,25,24.
The Tother One 17.
I remember getting stuck into Mon Mome for this last year before he ran so well in the same Cheltenham contest as the current second fav. He never went a yard at Chepstow. I already had the opinion that you needed a minimum 3 week break coming here and that cemented it. The Tother One a place lay for me. -
