yes mate i am next door to Fergal Obrien yard and we had two hours of quiet solid rain again, been very went down here all winter
March 10, 2024 at 17:36 #1684414Yeah, yesterday’s local forecast did say rain was going to ‘hang around’ across Glos/Cheltenham most of the day.
March 10, 2024 at 18:03 #1684416You wouldn’t want a good ground horse. I suspect wild, wet, and mild weather will become the winter/spring norm, if it hasn’t already.
Just hope it doesn’t get too bad next week.
March 10, 2024 at 21:07 #1684439Thanks nwalton, your posts are very useful.

March 11, 2024 at 08:20 #1684473Thanks for the updates nwalton.
They had expected max 8mm over the weekend but got 7mm on Saturday alone.
Going by your reports from yesterday, It’s looking like genuinely testing ground now.How far are you from the track, 10 miles or so? Is it possible they could’ve missed some of the rain?
March 11, 2024 at 09:36 #1684483I live right next to Fergal Obrien’s yard in Andoversford so a touch over six miles, was in town yesterday and they were getting it as well. I will update in morning but just dull and overcast at present with a very little drizzle in the air.
March 11, 2024 at 09:58 #1684486Official going this morning still maintained as soft. Not too fussed about the Cross Country, but that is given as heavy (soft in places). Surprised it hasn’t worsened.
March 11, 2024 at 10:01 #1684487Maybe he dont want to be put heavy into the going report, I dont know if it is, but as said cant have any good to soft in places at present
March 11, 2024 at 22:46 #1684657A spell of moderate to heavy rain just been forecast on local weather tv forecast, for the early hours and up until about 10 oclock in the morn.
Tom afters will likely be soft, heavy in places i reck.

March 12, 2024 at 07:34 #1684693Thanks for the update. It’s going to be pretty testing by this afternoon, given that the forecast shows no sign of the rain abating until mid-afternoon.
