She made a solid reappearance over hurdles when second after 398 days off.
May well be spot on now.

Is fancied ( only by me ) to turn the hotpot over here.
John Butler’s favourite starjck is due to go up 14 pounds and landed a touch at Kempton last time. Hadn’t placed before and although only raised 5lbs not certain to act as well at Chelmsford.
Mark Usher’s runner in comparison is the only other unexposed one but does have placed form and dropped a pound or two can get into the money here and will go on the track.

    STEEL DUCHESS
    Win
Ran into Griggy over this trip. Touched off a nose when slowly away. Griggy won three of last four. Tried over shorter and further since. Staying on third last time suggests a better effort back to trip. Drawn in stall 2 will go close. Additional headgear added to visor.

    DOWN ROYAL
    1.30

You have to pick the bones out of what trainer Willie Mullins says about the chances of his four runners in the next at down Royal
“We have four runners in the Grade 3 Mares Novice Hurdle over 2m 1f. Champagne Problem (Pat Taaffe) won at Cork and Kilbeggan and then finished second at Gowran last time. Pat can’t use his claim here but he has been getting on well with her so far. Hopefully she will run well enough to get some valuable black type. Paul won nicely on Nikini at Listowel last time and he is happy to take the mount again here. The dam’s side of her pedigree would suggest she may not be at her best on soft ground but hopefully she will cope with the conditions today. Carrigmoorna Queen (Brian Hayes) has been running well of late and we think she’ll handle today’s ground. She has a great chance of finishing in the first four. Saylavee (Danny) is improving all the time and being by Shantou she should handle this ground. She has every chance.”
    CHAMPAGNE PROBLEM
    MAGIC DAZE
Ap heskin is an eye catching booking for Henry De Bromhead here.
    Both each way
The big problem here is the claims of Gordon Elliott and he has a very strong hand in every race and it would be no suprise to see him go right through the card today. I know from the sounds coming out of Ireland that it is his intention to try and win all the races today…..

Disappointing to get the winner in a tricast attempt and not actually be on the winner!!
CROCODILE POWER had a pull with Mr Trevor but it counted for nothing against the winning distance.

    Newcastle 4.45

    MAXZENO
    Win
Was finishing with a wet sail in the middle of the field to a rival on the rail and not surprisingly fell just short. The going looked heavy the last day too on the turf.
MAXZENO reopposes that rival in a much smaller field on the all weather and conditions should suit favourably.
    MAXZENO
Also gets a big pull at the weights and has a great chance of reversing form here.

    Dundalk 5pm
    GREEK FLOWER

    Win
    Is that wonderful Irish anomaly.
    A winner in a maiden.
He’s won a barrier trial here, but more importantly he ran second to Micky the steal subsequently and he is now rated 91.
Ran over six time, but should relish the shorter trip.
The draw is always a factor here but if overcoming the draw will be very hard to beat unless there is something very special running

Very hard to evaluate these runners but the selections are both in great form.
Freescape is on a career high after a winter in Dubai and went close over further last time. Beaten a neck last time and has to conceed weight all round.
