Looks like something is being done – a press release from the HRA.
Warwick Racecourse to face Disciplinary Panel over partial abandonment
Warwick Racecourse has been informed that it will be required to attend a Disciplinary Panel hearing over the abandonment of five races at its meeting on the 6th September 2007.
The Managing Executive of Warwick Racecourse is charged with a breach of Rule 80(ii)e, in that the Executive did not ensure that the course was fit for racing and that the circumstances leading to an area of ground, approximately 2 metres by 2 metres and approximately 8 metres off the inside running rail on the home bend, becoming much softer than the rest of the course and resulting in the abandonment were not wholly outside the control of the Executive.
The enquiry is due to be heard on Thursday 8th November 2007.
Notes for Editors:
1. The Penalty Guidelines for a breach of Rule 80(ii)e are the same as those for a non-medical breach of Rule 80(ii)a, namely a fine in the range of £1000 to £15,000 with an entry point of £2,500. - AuthorPosts
