Cittronade travels up from California for the Beverley D, her form and post calls this year effectively reads "1-1-1-1-1" (repeat X times)
August 11, 2007 at 08:52 #111071Medici Code’s race is not scheduled to be shown on either RW or ATR due to the 2.05 start time and there is no market for it on Betfair.
August 12, 2007 at 01:09 #111114For the record, having looked a bit more closely at the Del Mar race, I give Medici Code a big chance. His morning line guide of 6/1 would certainly look to be on the generous side.
The race in which he was just touched off last month was one of three divisions of a 1 mile $75k stakes event run over this course, and the form of all three of these races is represented here.
Medici Code[/color:2b7daxlr] was only beaten a head and that particular division was the fastest paced throughout. Given that he is entitled to come on for that first run since the Santa Anita Derby in April, he seems to have major claims this time round.
Of the opposition, the ex-Fretwell/McMahon colt Vauquelin makes some appeal having comfortably won another of the divisions of the same race in July, albeit the slowest one, and turned in a number of very creditable efforts since his transatlantic migration, as does the very much unexposed Latin Rhythms.
Star Inside hasn’t really been firing on all cylinders thus far and would need to improve considerably, as does more recent arrival Karazi.
Worldly is likely to be plenty short enough and whilst he has done everything asked of him stateside, will probably need to improve again and will also probably be having to run much faster earlier than has been the case for him to date.
Ten A Penny holds the consistent Unusual Suspect, but for me both have slight stamina queries and might just be better suited by the bare mile. Dilemma has been scratched from the race.
I’ve had a little bit on Medici Code to win and I’ve keyed him into some speculative small-stake exotics with Vauquelin and Latin Rhythms.[/color:2b7daxlr][b:2b7daxlr]Close but not quite really good. Medici Code won nicely though…[/color:2b7daxlr][/b:2b7daxlr]

August 12, 2007 at 13:58 #111131A result to shake the faith of those who regard all AW racing as dross – a Southwell winner beats a Wolverhampton winner in a turf Group 2 !
Medici Code now looks worth every dollar of the price paid for him.

August 12, 2007 at 22:20 #111180Thanks very much indeed, apracing. It had been a bad day at the office until then. Apart from Medici code, I don’t believe I had a single winner, yesterday.
It was doubly beautiful for me, because until I checked my bookie sites to today, I’d thought it had been withdrawn, as well as After Market at Arlington. I must have misread the TV info.
August 17, 2007 at 11:32 #111563An interesting article about Medici Code can be found here :
http://www.drf.com/news/article/83134.html
It also has some interesting views on our artificial tracks.
Elsewhere on DRF is a report that Medici Code is now being aimed at the $400,000 Del Mar Derby, staged on Sunday Sept 2nd.

October 4, 2007 at 11:41 #117910An update on Medici Code – his trainer has been charged with doping offences with regard to his first two runs In California, due to excessive levels of Clenbuterol.
Apparently he was tested clean after his biggest and most recent win in the Santa Anita Derby.
This weekend he tries his luck on dirt in the Grade 2 Indiana Derby over 8.5F at the delightfully named Hoosier Park – this race is worth $500,000. It’s a floodlit meeting in the Midwest, so the race will be run at about 04:00 Sunday our time.
