During some time last night, CNN predicted that Texas would go to Harris. I don’t know who made that prediction, in the end she only had roughly 42% of the Texan votes. How can you be that far off?
While they are so inaccurate, there will be a suspicion that polling companies are trying to shape political opinion rather than merely measuring it.
This has been in my head all day. Can somebody suggest an earworm to displace it please?

Can’t do with his smugness. It’s going to be hard to ignore him over the next 4 years.
I’ve had to avoid all news channels for the past couple of days because every time I turn them on he’s there. And to think that four years ago I thought that he was out of my life for good.
What a sad indictment of the American people.

Listening to a lot of democrats they were enraged in not having a voice in deciding who stood , one a lawyer stated ” they put a crown on Harris and said there you go ” problem was I didn’t want Harris , let’s be blunt here , a convicted felon and also someone who has had numerous complaints raised by women against him is now the President , the US can no longer stand high on the moral ground and tell the world what to do

The Democrats absolutely share some blame for this. They were painted into a corner by Biden’s stubborn refusal to step aside. By the time he did so, what choice did they have?
The sad thing is, there is such a cultlike devotion to him that he won’t even by judged by his successes and failures. He’s said all the right things to get elected but very little on how he’ll actually do it. How does one simply ‘end inflation’ for example? Whatever happens tens of millions of them will still be telling us what a wonderful job he did.
He’ll be gone in no more than four years (I’d happily take odds against on Vance being president within two years) but the stain he’s left on the Republican party and American politics will take somewhat longer to eradicate.
It turns out Rory Stewart not only made a fool of himself with his prediction but also placed “the maximum amount I was allowed to bet” on Harris.
You need a heart of stone not to laugh.
So sad to see Stewart and Campbell get it wrong. Guess we’ll hear Campbell whinging about the result every time he’s on the tv, to add to his Brexit woes.

In Stewart’s defence, he quite literally put his money where his mouth was.
At least nobody has died or ended up in jail unlike when Trump didn’t get his way.
Rory’s only mistake is that he believed that good would prevail. Because, as a pretty decent human being he can’t comprehend why anyone would support someone so vile. Can anyone imagine Trump doing the sort of unscripted talks that Rory does. And one day the film will eventually be made about Rory’s treck across Afghanistan ( Brad Pitt has the rights I believe).
Trump did though , he did 3 hours on Joe Rogans podcast , he went after the young male vote and got them out to support him , as bad as the democrats got this Trump got his campaign right , he’s the ultimate illusionist , people can’t see what’s he actually doing and are taken in …
