Always had a soft spot for L’Homme Presse, and great to see him here. Still holds a King George entry, and wonder if this could be a sharpener for him, but it would be tight to do both

King Turgeon very appealing having missed The Becher, but although I’ve not bet him yet, I’m most interested in Blaze The Way right now around 12’s

If he can brush up his jumping and get a better passage through the race than he got last time he’ll go very close.

Interesting to see Gowel Road back over fences after 3 years away (chase form figures 2 1). I was wondering when I read this morning he’d be fitted with first time cheekpieces as there’s no straighter horse in training. They must be hoping to sharpen his jumping. He’s run really well so far this season and there’ll be nothing more determined if he’s still there when they’ve jumped the last.

L’Homme Presse is one of my favourite horses of recent years and I have the Grand National in the back of my mind for him. I am hopeful of a big run under his burden, but I won’t be falling out of my chair if he finds one or two better treated today.

One of which could be Henrys Friend who was not harshly treated at all for his win last time out.
