Guardian saying that Big Fella Thanks sadly died when running his last race before retirement back in May.

It was only announced yesterday.

Not sure if he’s still ‘high profile’ or if anyone would pick him (unlikely) but thought it was worth noting.

Yeah very sad news. If ever a horse deserved retirement, it was him. 10 years he was running at the top level

Hi Bobby –

I’ve already re-jigged my stable twice with the loss of Fayonagh & sidelining of Petit Mouchoir, so here’s hoping that posting won’t trigger another! Of course, my choosing them will be the trigger for half of them not coming out of their stables for most of the winter … But hey – great competition, and I thoroughly enjoyed my novice season last year.

Thanks for running this – reminds me of the old Pacemaker comp when you wrote your entries in pen. That whole comp lost a community feel about it when the RP took it over. All the other sports then followed with their fantasy comps. They grew so much that they didn’t need the racing one anymore.
