You can cut the 40 in half with the clone votes of me, thee, myself and Irene
can I add JimJTS to the list
I had a dream I was on a train with him but all he would say was
“At the end a the day Scott Brown goes doon lit a wee lassie the pussy *******”Member since March 2008January 6, 2021 at 18:37 #1516646gamble, Kotkijet has already admitted to voting for himself in the yearly awards – bad form!
Anyway, I am delighted that this has been scrapped.
Maybe time for you to get back in your hidey-hole now?
January 6, 2021 at 19:25 #1516656been a lonely 5 years, let’s have a vote on it once the other awards are done and dusted. – I heartily support Daylight being awarded Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award so let’s just do that. Then I think we should add someone each year and include it in your awards annually Nathan?
My nominations for this years vote –
Jim JTS (although he wouldn’t be happy about it!)
Billion
Bob Rolf
VTC
Matron
The Ante Post King
Nathan HughesJanuary 6, 2021 at 19:46 #1516659Well that’s a much more sensible list, boss. Would be a nice touch to give Jim a posthumous award.
January 6, 2021 at 20:58 #1516665Do you think each year is a bit short.?
I think every 5 would be betterMember since March 2008January 7, 2021 at 11:20 #1516699I found your flying post exhilarating Drone in its logic and honesty. Did my later non iambic post change your mind ?
I would kill off The Lifetime Achievement Award and leave it for the two deserving incumbents Daylight and Cormack15 to enjoy in perpuety. I think David Cormack only scraped in on this one as he is certainly not at the end of his career either posting or administrating, and that is why it is a difficult fit.
Tank you have a lot to learn in the honesty stakes from the now revered BH. Your loathing of him is as hard to fathom as Ricky Lake’s loathing of you. Very honest of BH to declare his hand. I would suggest in all future polls people selected do roughly the same and vote for themselves. Suspend their vote until the last day and on that last day either vote for themselves if they are down the list
or vote for another if they sit in the top three if they so desire. That seems to make sense.
If this creaking lifetime achievement award is to take place I would leave out Billion and stop the clock Jim. Daylight was the only realistic exception for a posthumous award. I don’t think the dead and hopefully at peace care a monkey’s about awards. They would far prefer to be given a good strong cup of tea made with full milk to sip through with a heavenly baked piece of sourdough to munch.
An award every five years might be countenanced and this might be named a Special Merit Award. This might sit better with the departed so in this case I would allow the dead to collect posthumously.
My thoughts – you decide.
January 7, 2021 at 11:52 #1516701I am wearing the wrong glasses little wonder I needed five edits. The edit button or what I call the reverse splash button I have a love hate with. People should stick by their original words – come what may.
Special Achievement of Merit Award a SAMA or you could more reverently call it THE TRUFFLE AWARD (Special Achievement of Merit Award ) The dead and dearly departed will be most welcomed
The missed….

The tinned List…
January 9, 2021 at 11:25 #1516965Yes, maybe annually would be too much Nathan.
Story of my life that Gamble, scraping in.
David
January 9, 2021 at 22:37 #1517072Only one name springs to mind and that would be Daylight – after all, this was his forum.
I only met him once – at Towcester races, in 2004, I think.
He was such a nice young chap.
January 9, 2021 at 23:43 #1517078Daylight hasn’t been forgotten
Never met him myself but think I’ve still got the letter he sent with login details when I first joined!
January 10, 2021 at 00:17 #1517083This could be a badge of honour for veterans. Those that joined via The Letter
January 13, 2021 at 15:11 #1517449Veterans ? The vast majority are teenagers and I myself have not received the key to the door yet, being a sprightly 20 year old.
My esteemed Cormack, on the subject of scraping through, but more concerning the big one rather than lifetime award we used to list second place for those nearly posters some who were pipped and others valiantly struggling. I do suggest such is resumed and corrected for the big one. Well done Nathan (you were a valiant second when I last looked)
The not full list…
January 13, 2021 at 15:17 #1517450As such (Nathan Hughes) small caps and brackets – if indeed Nathan was second.
