Thanks Graham looking forward to this…I was just little worried about Bristol De Mai and the lack of bullish comments from his trainer to date I can’t find anything later than the beginning of the year. Also apart from The Betfair Chase he doesn’t seem to hold any other entries as yet. Have been holding back waiting for news but unusually quiet at Twister Towers on the BDM front.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 12, 2020 at 23:32 #1510489Thought you would have Bristol, Jac. He’s one of mine hope he gets me some early points

You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.November 12, 2020 at 23:50 #1510491Good luck with him Neil and your Stable
I would love to see him run well in the Betfair and who knows this could be his year and I’ll be kicking myself for leaving him out.
Still..I always have the transfer window.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 14, 2020 at 06:41 #1510607Last few hours
The Competition gets underway in a few hours. The tapes go up, the crowd
roars and you’ll have missed the boat if you don’t have your stable entered
by 11am.We’ve got a fair bunch with 18, that’s 2 up from the flat competition, There’s
£50 for the winner of the league, but if you want a runner’s up prize too,
we need to hit the 20 mark as I had said earlier. With a free stable offered
you’d be looking a gift horse in the mouth not to throw your hat into the
ring. Also, I have to point out what was in the original post, if you are
not a member of TRF but have put a stable in, you’re very welcome, but you
will not be eligible for any prize, so get yourself entered in TRF by 11am which
is the only way I can communicate with you if you win.Good luck all
November 14, 2020 at 08:08 #1510611Looking forward to this Graham tapes are almost up..still time to enter.

I have the book…
The Scudamores Three Of A Kind
from Oxo to Arthur
that I would like to offer as a small consolation prize.
I actually won it in a competition on here and considering I”m a flat fan I found it a good read full of humour.Once again if, in the extraordinary event, I win, I would like to donate my winnings this time to Hero’s Charity (rehoming of racehorses) they like all RoR charities are doing great work in challenging times.

Many thanks Graham for putting up this generous prize and running The League..just 3 hours to go..
Good luck everyone and keep our horses and jockeys safe.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 14, 2020 at 09:18 #1510614I put my free stable- Green’s Wildcards- in the TTF league, trying to pick some less common selections for interest (I assume Breaken is still alive and in training purely on his inclusion in the list of horses to pick from). Finally managed to purchase 2 stables for the main comp too.
Good luck all and thanks for the thread bigG
November 14, 2020 at 12:55 #1510670The tapes are up, the boat has sailed, and the last train to Glasgow Central
has left the platform !!I think we have a very decent turn out with 19 stables, and although we didn’t
hit the 20 for a runners up prize, our very own Jac (Triptych) has very graciously
put up an excellent consolation prize of The Scudamores Three Of A Kind, From
OXO to Arthur. Thanks very much for that Jac, in fact if I’m leading going
to the last week (highly improbable) I’m going to get one of those “handy” vet notes
to pull my stable to nab that prize, sounds a great read
Well we’re off and running, I’m still miffed that the Tote haven’t considered running
a League of Leagues Competition, I think we would do very well. I’ll do a write up
after each week on Monday (with the ocassional blip
). Feel free to make
posts at any time, and if any queries I’ll be sure to be on hand and ehmm, swiftly delegate
it elsewhere
Good luck team TRF
November 17, 2020 at 11:06 #1511009Week 1 (Well sort of)
We’re only 4 days into the competition, and I normally do an update on
a Monday. I was going to leave it until next week and cover it for the
10 days, but there’s been a fair bit of movement so I’ll do a shortened
week’s version for the 1st week.Bourne Losers have shot out of the blocks and had a treble courtesy of
Al Dancer’s 3rd in the Paddy power Gold Cup, Put The Kettle On’s last
gasp win at Cheltenham on Sunday and Fury Road who was worth more than
his 3 1/2L win at Punchestown after making a bit of a hash of the last.
PTKO looks like one to stay on the right side of. A cracking start with
46.42 Points, and top spot. Very well done Bourne
Closely on Bourne’s heels is The Fab Few 2, with a nice double. Again Put
The Kettle On, which was a popular choice, and Fury Road did the honours
netting TFF a tidy 44.32 Points. Nicely done
Well I find myself, Off The Bridle, in a rather fortunate 3rd place. I’m pretty
sure that Saint Roi would have got the better of Abacadabra had he not made a
hash of few hurdles when it was at a crucial stage. I’m not complaing mind you,
after my less than inspiring tally in the TTTF flat competition, I’ll take all
the points I can get, 28.42 Points, lucky or otherwise
Thiago, Thiago Alcantara (I had to look that one up and I get the feeling that
Nathan has got a hand in this somewhere
) along with Neil can also
count themselves a tad fortunate with Abacadabras, which causes a mini log jam
with the 3 of us on 28.42. Well done guys
Inthestream and Dark Angels both had Put The Kettle On, 22.20 Points, and the
unlucky Saint Roi 1.10 points. Well done guys
Put The Kettle On was a popular choice and didn’t do the chances of Summerleave
and Midnight any harm
FF81 had a double with Fury Road and Saint Roi for 23.22 points and that gets
them mid division in 8th place
Waterloo Road Stables seems to have unearthed a real gem in The Big
Breakthrough. Colin Tizzard had previously stated that he hoped he would be
a Gold Cup horse one day, and he certainly didn’t do anything to change his
mind after an impressive win at Cheltenham on Sunday. Very well picked out
WRS, you’re the only stable with TBB, that’s what often makes the difference.
WRS also had Saint Roi.
A couple of other stables also had ones from “outside the box”, No Hopers #1
had Castlebawn West who managed 3rd place at Punchestown for 5.10 points and
added Saint Roi for a 5.10 total. Green Wildcats had the extremely unlucky
Elimay who was beaten a nose after a titanic struggle with Buildmeupbuttercup
in a listed race at Punchestown. They also had the cutely named Lamanver Pippin
who managed 3rd at Cheltenham on Saturday netting them 3.40 points for the double. Our recent winner of the TTTF Flat, Middle Of March, managed to get out of the
stalls with the unlucky 2nd place Saint Roi in the Schloer Chase at Cheltenham
on saturday. Only 1.10 points for MOM, but he’s on his way again
Five stables yet to get out of the stalls, but it’s very early days.
A good 1st few days, and it looks like there are quite a few powerful looking
stables in the league, and I include those yet to score in that. Very well
done guys, I sooooo wish there was a League Of Leagues, I would fancy our
chances having had a scour through all the stables. Keep it up

0.00November 17, 2020 at 11:29 #1511012I see that we do now have 20 Stables, not sure how or when the last one
squeezed in, but I’m a man of my word and I said I’d stick up a 2nd prize
if we had 20 stables. I’ll stick up £25 for 2nd place. We have also been
generously offered the book The Three Scudamores, From Oxo To Arthur by
Jac (Dark Angels) as a consolation prize. I’ll leave it up to Jac if she
would like the book to go along with the 2nd prize, or perhaps be a consolation
for the 3rd podium place
November 17, 2020 at 12:04 #1511014I should also add that the 20 that are now entered are the only ones
eligible for the competition prizes, and as previously stated they have
to be registered as members of THERACINGFORUM before 11am on Saturday
14/11/2020. This is just in case anyone who is doing well in the competition
later on decides to stick their stable into out League. Sorry if I sound like
a hard ass, but thems the rules
November 17, 2020 at 12:52 #1511080Great news that we now have 20 players Graham .. and as you are now generously offering a 2nd prize I am more than happy to put the book in as 3rd prize so that everyone on the Podium gets something.
Totally agree with you regarding latecomers with points gatecrashing Leagues offering prizes. I’m surprised that The Tote allow this to happen. I presumed Leagues closed when the competiton kicked off but obviously not..you are no way a hard ass Graham ..lol

What a shame that Santini is no longer running in the Betfair that will hit quite a few stables hard as it is a Bonus race but so much decent racing still to come. It’s competition like this that keep us going and really look forward to your weekly roundup Graham.

Well done to all with points this week a great kick start for the competition. Just stay right there in 3rd place Off The Bridle and the book is yours.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 17, 2020 at 12:52 #1511083Great work BigG,
There is a reason behind the silly stable name in that if I win the whole thing which would be about 100 billion to one the tote might kindly organise a signed shirt or something.
Although as I only have a free stable I’m not sure I qualify to win anything..
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 17, 2020 at 14:09 #1511147As i am not much of a reader of books (think the last time i read a book was in school), i am happy for the book to go to the 4th placed person were i to finish 3rd.
November 17, 2020 at 14:43 #1511149A signed shirt would be a treasure for you Nathan. With a free stable you don’t
get the tote return on a paid stable, but there is still a £1000 prize so not
to be sniffed at, and of course paid and free stables are exactly the same in
our league
Mike, you don’t know what you’re missing. There’s something about having the
book in your hand and marking it for next time. It’s a tactile thing, even the
smell of a book is like a welcome friend. You should get back into the way of
it, what would your English teacher say……..write out 100 times……
November 17, 2020 at 14:51 #1511150Thanks for that Jac, and I think it works well that the podium finishers all
get a reminder of the competition
It’s quite a blow that Santini is out, he looked like one that could take all
the top prizes. It’s a hard game at times
Yep, no gatecrashers Jac, it’s our 20 and that’s it
It’s an ideal
number, it makes it very competitive, and still manageable so that I’m not
still sitting here at 5am on a Tuesday morning writing up
November 18, 2020 at 16:49 #1511283Whilst I remember, Plumpton racecourse have been in contact in recent weeks about my prize for their flat competition.
Apparently, I have won ‘admission, a welcome drink, 3-course meal and a table which is yours for the day – for 4 people’ for any race day of my choosing when crowds are allowed to return. Thinking I might go for the Southern Grand National day possibly. Very much pleased with that. A good thing they’ve done and I look forward to my first trip to that course when crowds can return.
November 18, 2020 at 19:54 #1511296Superb prize MOM
Perhaps we should be be considering a handicap
system with your big prize win in the Plumpton League and waltzing off with
the 50 quid in our flat competition. Looks like you’d be carrying 12st and a
7 lb penalty. Just sayin
