Week 2 Update
A pretty fabulous week of racing and all sorts of high fliers, which obviously
indicates that a few of us (puts hand up
) have been well and truly knocked
off our perches. You can’t keep a good man down, and that’s very true in the case of Neil’s
Horses For Courses who hits the highest score of the week, 54.20 Points, and
heads straight to the head of the table on 82.62 Points. Whilst the rest of
us are shaking our heads wondering how on earth we left out Bristol De Mai
(Jac, get out from behind that couch
) Neil was picking up Bonus
Points by the handful. I reckon you might only get another 2 runs out of him
this season Neil, but I’d fancy him to win the Cotswold again and I’d love to
see him crown the year with the gold Cup. Super stuff Neil
Bourne Losers has to make way for Neil and take the bridesmaid’s place but had
the very popular Shishkin who won at Kempton, with distress calls being put out
for the others who had disappeared into the gloom. A decent 11.10 Points, well
done Bourne
FF91 Makes a sizeable jump up the league, from 8th to 3rd with a couple that
look nailed on to score well in the competition, Appreciate It (12.12 Points)
and Minella Indo (21.10 Points). Appreciate It won at Cork on Sunday by 2 1/2L,
but I’ve no doubt it could have been 10 had Paul Townsend chose to do so.
Impressive over the 2m, but I get the impression he would be even better over
2 1/2 and in time 3M. A 16/1 shot for the Supreme, but I reckon the 12/1 for
the Ballymore is a better bet. Minella Indo couldn’t have been any more impressive
On Sunday at Navan and is a best priced 8/1 for the Gold Cup. Two great horses
you’ve got there FF, well done
The Fab Few dropped a couple of places to 4th, but had the consolation of knowing
there’s a lot more to come from Appreciate It and picks up the 12.12 Points. Nicely
done TFF
Ther were quite a few on the fancied horses over the weekend, and Summerleaze,
Midnight and Amberwood Amblers all score well (32.20 Points) with Minella Indo
and Shiskin. Summerleaze jumped 5 places from 9th to 5th, Midnight jumped 4 places
to 6th and AA pulled well away from last week’s foot of the table, climbing 6
places to 14th. Well done all 3 of you
Thiago Thiago Alcantara (AKA Nathan) also scored with Shishkin, and looks to have
a real decent sort in Fenry Hollow who fought out a titanic dual with Bob Olinger,
the rest behind in a different parish. He showed real guts to get the better of Bob,
who looks decent too. It looks like he’ll appear next at Leopardstown around
Christmas. Nice one Nathan
Waterloo Road Stables was another to benefit from having Appreciate it and
Minella Indo in their stable and moved nicely into 8th from 11th. Man Superstars
who fought it out right to the death with Middle Of March for the TTTF Flat,
may have been stuck in the stalls last week, but burst out with the 2nd highest
score in the league, 45.60 points with a nice trio of Minella Indo, Shishkin and
Clan Des Obeau. Well done Mike, that’s a nice move into 9th place.Shiskin was a fair favourite in the League, and others that benefited were
myself (Off the bridle), who suffered a nose bleed last week getting to 3rd
place and fell to a more in keeping 11th place. I was in good company with
a single Shiskin win with Jac’s Dark Angels, Bachelors hall and our present
TTTF Champion Middle Of March. A good consolation for us, and we’re obviously
keeping the big guns in reserve at the moment
Like Man S, Barrow Raiders didn’t see the yellow flag go down last week, but
made up for it with Appreciate it, and a couple of perhaps less obvious ones
in Time Flies By who was a bit keen at Ascot on Friday, and make a bit of a
Holricks of the last but managed 2nd. He’ll come on from that I’m sure, and
as one of JP’s you can ignore him at your peril. Perhaps even more of an
unearthed gem was Song For Someone, who had little difficulty putting away
Call me Lord and Laurina in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday. He’s
definitely one to keep onside. Very well spotted Barrow and 36.82 points
has you nicely up to 12th place
A couple of other nice finds from outside the box was Blackbow, who won well
on Sunday at Navan, and picked up 13.52 points for Green’s Wildcards. I fancy
he could add to that and it’s always important to have one or 2 that nobody
else has. Well done Green
Wildcards was another who managed a couple that nobody else had with
Enurgumene who won as he liked at Gowran Park on Friday and Stattler who was
beaten into 3rd when odds on fav at Naas on Saturday, he didn’t jump the last
2 very fluently and looked after the last that he would be beaten a long way,
but then made up ground hand over fist to go down an ever decreasing 2 1/2L.
I wouldn’t give up on him Wildcards, I think he’ll come on a lot for that.Well that’s pretty much all that’s happened over the week, plenty of decent
horses out over the next week. Paisley Park, McFabulous and Summerville Boy
are a terrific trio in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on Friday and
Epetante, Sceau Royal and Silver Streak face off in the Fighting Fifth at
Newcastle on SaturdayBest of luck this week

11.10November 24, 2020 at 11:51 #1512061Well done Neil keeping the faith in Bristol De Mai and hope he brings in many more bonus points for you including a possible tilt at the Gold Cup again to finish the season, Although this will be a big ask it’s a far more preferable option to the Grand National and hope his owners don’t go down that route.
Many thanks to our Cpt. Graham for a brilliant summary of the ups and downs of our Stables.
Lots of points up for grabs from this Friday through to Sunday so next week may see an all change in the League.
Best of luck to everyone.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 25, 2020 at 16:34 #1512148Thanks Jac, when he scored for me on Saturday my list (which is my free list) was number 37 in the free list leaderboard, now it’s 98, but I’ve a few runners over the weekend which hopefully push me back up. Although I take nothing for granted.
Also got three paid entries and the best entry was number 38, but slipped to 124. He featured in that as well.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.November 25, 2020 at 17:49 #1512153Thanks for the update bigG
Well done with Bristol Neil, hope he bags the Cotswold for you as well
November 30, 2020 at 20:33 #1512668Week 3 Update
What a tremendous week of racing and all sorts of huge swings within
the League. Starting right at the top, it was a 5 nap hand for FF91
with the Royal Bond winner Ballyadam who won cosier than the 1 1/2L
suggests having fluffed his lines at the last hurdle. He looks the
one for the Supreme hurdle, as long as Appreciate it goes for the
Ballymore. Epante looked even better that last year if that’s
possible in the Fighting Fith. Sceau Royal has looked a changed horse
for the better this year, but he was brushed aside and I haven’t seen
anything so far this year that looks to be threatening him for the
champion Hurdle. Honeysuckle won the Hatton Grace as expected,
but those with a few quid on would have got a bit if a fright at the
end with the fast finishing Ronald Pump. She’ll come on for that and
will run up plenty points in the competition. Monkfish won his
race at Fairyhouse on Saturday in an absolute canter. He looks nailed
on for the RSA. Thyme Hill completed the five timer with a gutsy
win in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on Saturday, he looks very
decent type, but I have to say that the race to me was a bit of shambles,
and although Thyme Hill has gone to the head on the Stayers Hurdle market,
I would caution that the race was run at a dawdle, about 5 seconds slower
that the handicap race over C/d right after it. Take nothing away from Thyme
Hill, but I think the doubling of McFabulous’s odds out to 20/1 is a bit of
an over reaction from the bookies, and I’m having some of that. I hope you
skinned the bookies FF, that fivesome would have a £216 return for a tenner.
Very well done, top marks for the week and top place (from 3rd) in the League
A big shunt up the League for Thiago Thiago Alcantara from 7th to 2nd place.
A nice trio of winners with Ballyadam and Monkfish mentioned above, and also Envoi Allen who won at fairyhouse with the absolute minimum of fuss. He’s a strong favourite for the Marsh Novices Chase, but he has options.
Paisley Park 2nd behind Thyme Hill, lost nothing in defeat
as it turned into a bit of a sprint at the end. Well done Nathan, a great move
up the league and it looks like a strong stable you’ve put together
Barrow Raiders made an even bigger move up the league, from a middle of the
road 12th last week they have sprung to 3rd place. Thyme Hill again
was a popular choice, but it was the superb run of Cloth Cap in the
Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury . A big bonus race added 52.70 points for the win,
and with Thyme Hill Barrow notched up 78.50 points. That was an inspired pick
Barrow, and the way he won he could be headed for the big one at Aintree in
April. First class
Talking of big moves, hang onto your hat for this one as Amberwood Amblers surge
from a lowly 14th to 3rd place with Epetante, Envoi Allen and Monkfish all
winners as mentioned earlier, and McFabulous who needed a stronger
gallop to be at his best. Top mover of the week Amberwood, great stuff
Man Superstars who always does well in these competitions, notched himself
up 4 places from 9th to 5th with the ever popular Envoi Allen, Epatante and
Monkfish Definitely a stable to keep an eye on. Well done Mike
Too many to individually mention but Ballyadam, Envoi Allen, Monkfish,
Thyme Hill, Epetante and Honeysuckle appeared in most stables in various
permutations. One that was generally overlooked, but not by Neil’s Horses For Courses and
Wildcards, was Concertista. She may have only won by 1/2L, but that was
with Paul Townend sitting completely motionless on her. She has some engine
and I’d reckon she will be all the rage for the Mares hurdle at the Festival.I have to give a mention for Middle Of March, who missed the break, but has
made up significant ground to move 7 places to 11th, courtesy of that well
spotted trio Epetante, Ballyadam and Envoy Allen and a very decent
2nd place with Paisley Park. You’re not going to lose that crown MOM
without a fight, nicely done
Some great racing from Aintree and Sandown at the weekend, I’m particularly
looking forward to seeing Altior in the Tingle Creek. I hope at 10 years he
still maintains his form, he’s an amazing horse. Allmankind will be all the rage
in the Henry VIII Novice Chase after his hugely impressive run at warwick
last time out. I’d love to take the 12s for Crosspark in the Becher at Aintree,
but he’s got an entry at Sandown too so I’m hanging off. If he’s declared for
Aintree I’ll snaffle what I can.Best luck this week guys, although by the way the League is going you don’t
need much. I’ll say it again, we should be playing in a League of leagues,
I’d really fancy our chances. Good luck this week

I did log in to the tote the other day, I did tick the box “keep sign in” but it doesn’t work…
Unless I’m mistaken FF91 is 14th overall out of everyone that has entered, some effort that, keep it up FF91..
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 7, 2020 at 17:48 #1513432It looked that way last week Nathan when they had him on his stable marked
as 14th, but unfortunately his points had him nowehre near that. It’s the
same this week, they show FF91 as being 48th, I’m not sure where he is but
it’s not in the first few hundreds. I’ve no idea what they are playing at
December 7, 2020 at 18:58 #1513437He is 48th in the FREE league. There are three leaderboards, Paid,Free and Charity. Immediately above where it says Race Week 4 there is a separate tab for each league.
December 7, 2020 at 19:32 #1513438Week 4 Update
Despite having a week off in Barbados with the money he’s made on his
stable picks so far, FF91 still managed to stay at the top of the heap.Amberwood Amblers took the oppertunity to make serious inroads to our runaway
leader’s score by hitting the top score of the week courtesy of that very easy
winner of the Hilly Way Chase at Cork on Sunday, Chacun Pour Soi. A hard
fought win by Andy Dufresne at Navan on Saturday, I think it was decided
by his good jump at the last with Embittered not as fluent. Two decent winners
totting up a tally of 37.60, and moving up 3 places to 2nd. Great week for you
Amberwood, very well done
Barrow Raiders held their 3rd place, but nonetheless pulled themselves that bit
nearer the top with a solid 21.10 points, and was another to benefit from the
fine win of Chacun Pour Soi. Nicely done
Neil’s Horses For Courses and Inthestream look to have found a decent looking
one in the shape of Greaneteen who ran a fine race in the
Tingle creek, but couldn’t quite get on terms with the very impressive Poliologue.
A high points race so a nice 13.60 points as a consolation for 2nd place which
moved Neil up a couple of places into 4th. I reckon there are more points to come
from that one guys, well done
Thiago Thiago Alcantara, Summerleave, Bachelors Hall, Dark Angels and The Fab
Few could rightly feel a little hard done by with the Many Clouds Chase turning
into a 5f flat finish. I reckon that went against Santini and allowed the 16/1 shot Lake View lad to take advantage. Definitely more to come from this one
and although he’s maybe drifted a point or 2 for the Gold Cup, I wouldn’t be too
worried about the outcome of that race. You’ve got to jump to win the GC. Keep
the faith guys
Bourne losers, one of those with Santini, also had the impressive Chacun Pour Soi and climbed nicely 4 places from 13th to 9th. Top half
of the League now Bourne, keep it up
Amberwood Amblers was the highest scorer of the week, but the biggest mover in
the League was Bachelors Hall who had Santini as mentioned before, but also
had the very progressive looking Allmankind who might have the
unenviable task of taking on Shishkin in the Arkle, but he’s definitely
going the right way and is a decent looking sort. Well done with your move
from 17th to 12th Bachelors
10 To Follow is still lurking towards the lower ends, but got some valuable points
from the previously mentioned Andy Dufresne. Finally Wildcards managed to climb a couple of places to 16th, and is the only
one to have the last year’s Ryanair winner Min, who won the John Durkin
at Punchestown as he pleased. I’m surprised that he’s only in 1 stable and must
be real contender to rack up the points and I think the Ryanair is very much in
his grasp again this year. Well spotted with this one Wildcards
Some nice looking racing in the week ahead, I’ll be looking forward to seeing
my old mucker Unowhatimeanharry who will be contesting the Citipost Handicap
Hurdle at Cheltenham on Friday. He may be about to become a stroppy teenager
next month, but he showed no signs of letting up when he won the Pertemps Handicap
Hurdle at Aintree last month. The Caspian Caviar gold Cup on Saturday is just
about as competitive as you get Master Tommytucker seems to be attracting a
good deal of money along with Al Dancer, I wouldn’t rule out one from well
down the odds, Templepark. At 25/1 I think he’ll run a good race, and I can
see a few going 5 places, 2 already have. The Unibet Handicap Hurdle is going
to be quite a race if they all stand their ground. Goshen, Sceau Royal, Chtibello,
Song For Someone, Silver Streak and Ballyandy all have a realistic shout and I
wouldn’t rule out any of the other 5 either. That’s one to relish
That’s me done for this week, best of luck all with any Stable runners and your
betting in general

thank youWell done to FF91 what a great score
I presume that is our Final Furlong? Keep it going FF you have a great Stable.
My Dark Angels are dusting off their wings ready to fly in around Christmas.
I’ve not pushed them too hard yet and some have let their halos slip..we’ll be addressing that in the next few weeks.
The opposition is very strong as you say Graham if only we had a League Of Leagues it surely can’t be that difficult to set up.Best of luck for the run up to Christmas and hoping all the snow and fog keeps well away.
Best of luck everyone and thanks again Graham for your weekly updates.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 8, 2020 at 13:21 #1513537It’s fair to say my plan to have Altior and Defi in my squad for the Tingle Creek had well and truly backfired. lol
December 8, 2020 at 13:45 #1513539Thanks for that Diamond Geezer, I should have picked up on that, I’m a bit slow
out of the blocks these days
December 8, 2020 at 13:48 #1513540It happens every year Mike, there’s always one or two that have a sick not from
their mum
December 8, 2020 at 13:50 #1513541Thanks Jac, and yes we’ve got a bit of catching up to do, but as you say
many of our big guns are still tucked up in their cosy
stables. Plenty of time
December 14, 2020 at 21:13 #1514234Week 5 Update
As you might expect at this time, it’s been relatively quiet with so many
big races coming up over the festive period. In fact only two stables managed
any points at all. FF91, wasn’t one of the two, but by a fast disappearing
margin they held onto the top spot. The big race at the weekend was the Unibet International Hurdle and it didn’t
disappoint. Going to the last there were 4 in with a real chance, but in the
run in it turned into a duel between Song For Someone who by the skin
on his teeth managed to hold off Silver Streak. That was enough to promote
Barrow Raiders from 3rd to 2nd place with 28.80 points. Highest scoring stable
and cutting right down on the lead of FF91. I reckon that so far you’ve latched
onto one of the finds of the season Barrow, very well done
In the same race it was disappointing to see Goshen fade away tamely, that was a
bit of a blow for Waterloo Road Stables but it seems that a fibrillating heart
problem may have been the problem. I’m sure once they have sorted that problem
Waterloo, that he will be back to show how unlucky he was last year at the
Festival. I had Sceau Royal in the race, who is turning into the present day version of Harchibald. Going to the last Daryl Jacob looked (to me anyway)
that he only had to press the button. However when the button was pressed there
wasn’t a lot to be found. He had looked a different horse this year after his wind operation, winning his 1st 2 and only Epatante getting the better of him last time
out, but he reverted to type here with his old habit of finishing tamely. The only other stable to make any move on the scoreboard was 10 To Follow,
who must have been disappointed with the run of hot favourite Chantry House at Cheltenham on Saturday. Having a plan B is always handy, and 10 To Follow had
one more cunning than one of Baldrick’s cunning plans, with a 2nd string to his
bow with Fusil Raffles taking advantage of the out of sorts favourite. Nicely covered TTF and 13.80 points has you within a few points of a trio ahead of
you
Some decent racing over the weekend, with the highlight being the Long Walk
Hurdle, and if the declarations at the 5 day stage stand their ground we should
have a cracker at Ascot with Paisley Park (Thiago Thiago Alcantara, Middle Of March, Inthestream, No Hopers,The Fab Few) renewing his challenge against Thyme Hill (FF91, Barrow Raiders, Waterloo Road Stables). They won’t have it
all their own way though as the winner of the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle from last
year’s Festival, Sire Du Berlais could upset the apple cart.
Although he blotted his copybook last time out at Haydock, I’m still hopefull that The Jam Man is a lot better than he showed there. At 25/1, if he looks like turning
up, I’ll be having some of that each way. Another not to forget is Roksana,
who might have been handed the Mares Hurdle on a plate by Benie Des Dieux at
the last, but she’s still very decent and looked back to her best with a
comfortable win last time out at Wetherby. If they all turn up this will be
some race
A few points to be had elsewhere too with the very promising Sir Gerhard
(Middle Of March) appearing at Navan on Friday in the Future Champions Flat
race. He could very well be a future Champion if his last 2 bloodless wins
are anything to go by. I think Middle Of March is on to a good thing here
Another couple of very likely lads to take the points on Saturday are The Conditional (Neil’s Horses for Courses), winner of the Ultima Handicap at the
Festival this year and who should go off favourite, and Beware The Bear
(Midnight) who is always a threat at these long distance affairs. Best of luck guys
One final one to mention is Time Flies By (Barrow Raiders) who is down
to run in the Betfair Exchange Trophy in the last at Ascot on Saturday. He ran a good
race in 2nd at Ascot last time out after the best part of a year off. I’d expect him
to be straighter here. Henderson also has Buzz entered, and he’s favourite at this
time so not sure if both run here. Best luck if they do Barrow

How on earth did I manage to miss Envoi out of my list
December 15, 2020 at 08:45 #1514264Cheers FF, I don’t know about peaked too early FF, I’d rather think
your stable has taken a breather to get some air into their lungs
before pushing on again
There’s always one or two that we shake our heads and think WTF was
I thinking about leaving him/her out
I’ve been a fan of
Cloth Cap ever since his 3rd in the Scottish National, I left him
out thinking I’ll stick him in at the transfer window as I think
he’s a National winner in waiting. I had to sit and watch him bolt
up in the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase with 52 points up for grabs. I
know that Jac (Dark Angels) has been kicking herself for abandoning
her beloved Bristol De Mai, who just happens to be the top scoring
horse in the competition with 54.20 points after the Betfair Chase.A long way to go yet FF, and I’d rather be sitting where you are
rather than me having to use a telescope to see which way you’d
gone
