It will be interesting to see what price Accordingtojodie is tomorrow, his form got a significant boost when Star Neuville hacked up at Leopardstown this afternoon.
Gormanstown Cuckoo is worth a look in the first at Leopardstown, he was fourth behind a mare I really like (Our Girl Salley) last time out. The 2nd and 3rd from that race have since won a maiden hurdle and placed in a Grade 2 novice hurdle respectively.
Our Girl Salley herself runs in the second race, and if the irishracing.com forecast SP of 7/1 is anything to go by it’s way too big. She demolished a decent field last time and looks the most likely to cause an upset.
In the Future Champions Novice Hurdle Zaidpour appeals even at 1/2. He has the look of a complete machine and should have way too much pace for these.
The Dial-a-bet Chase looks like the race of the meeting. Three brilliant 2 mile chasers taking eachother on. It’s no surprise the money’s coming for Golden Silver as we know he handles the ground. Big Zeb should handle it ok and is still probably the one to beat. Captain Cee Bee is undoubtedly better on decent ground but he has a brilliant engine and I can see him overcoming the swamp-like conditions and the 7/2 should be mopped up

Hurricane Fly looks like buying money @ 8/13. He has the beating of Solwhit and he’ll come on for the previous run too. Luska Lad could run a big race too. Strongly considering a H.Fly-Zaidpour double.
I like the look of both Becauseicouldntsee and Catch Me in the Paddy Power Chase. Catch Me in particular @ 20/1 is overpriced. His run over course/distance last year behind Pandorama was excellent, and a chase rating of 141 possibly doesn’t do him justice.
December 28, 2010 at 22:44 #334095Just had €9.69 on a Zaidpour (1/2), Hurricane Fly (8/13) and Captain Cee Bee (7/2) treble

+ €272.51

7/1, if only THM.

I would be happy enough with 3/1 – 7/2 to be honest though I suspect she might be shorter. I thought For Bill was a bit disappointing at Clonmel and it’s surprising they’re not persisting over fences with her.
My one concern is that Prunella Dobbs might have been badly held up with the weather where she is based in Wicklow. I don’t know if she works them on the strand at Brittas Bay which wouldn’t be too far away from her.
December 29, 2010 at 12:08 #334132I thought 7/2 would be more likely myself IC, the irishracing.com prices can be, eh strange at times.

Our Girl Salley €10 win @ 5/2
Captain Cee Bee €20 win @ 100/30
Hurricane Fly €60 win @ 4/6
Becauseicouldntsee €5 e/w @ 10/1+ €172.51
December 29, 2010 at 12:33 #334143Who said Geraghty was staying at home just for Big Zeb? She’s a serious mare.
I only wish IR.com was a bookie laying their prices. 3/1 about Dylan Ross at Down Royal tomorrow would be very welcome!

December 29, 2010 at 16:19 #334192For tomorrow:
Drumbaloo
Dylan Ross
Bold Optimist
Mikael D’Haguenet
Shot From The Hip
Smoking Aces
Hidden UniverseDecember 30, 2010 at 12:13 #334262Was first man in the door of Ladbrokes this morning, early bird catches the Optimist!
€40 win Bold Optimist @ 7/4
€20 win Drumbaloo @ 7/4
€10 e/w Realt Dubh @ 8/1I do believe Mikael D’Haguenet is the best horse in the race, but Noel Meade was disappointed with Realt Dubh’s performance last time and considering it was a decent run, he must be a classy individual if Meade was expecting better. The drop to 2 miles should suit and 8/1 is a decent e/w price. Can’t believe Dylan Ross is 6/4 here

+ €253.65
December 30, 2010 at 15:50 #334288Excellent day for moi, with Realt Dubh winning at 10/1, and Bold Optimist going in there now.
Realt Dubh returns €140 (Not sure if the e/w was 1/4 or 1/5, I’ll take it as 1/5 for now and when I collect tomorrow I’ll amend this if necessary.
Bold Optimist returns €110
Drumbaloo was travelling very well before blowing up. Drifted like a barge in the market so I’m guessing he’ll strip much fitter next time out.
+ €503.65
December 30, 2010 at 16:01 #334289Excellent stuff THM,your confidence will get bigger the more you win! I shall have to watch my back!
December 30, 2010 at 19:51 #334329Thanks TAPK, sure I have to keep you on your toes

Some good racing tomorrow at Punchestown.
In the Lombardstown Mares Novice Chase Blazing Tempo will take all the beating. I was taken with the way she traveled the last day, and she could be called the winner a long way out, just hacking about 10 lengths of the leaders. The 7/2 forecast on sportinglife.com looks off the mark, with irishracing.com’s 2/1 more like the likely SP.
I like Royal De La Thinte in the Beginner’s Chase. I was there when he turned a p2p in Bennettsbridge into a complete procession, it was a one horse race. Alpha Ridge sets a high standard of form, but can be inconsistent and might be worth tasking on. Royal De La Thinte appeared to be travelling as well if not better than Boston’s Angel (who won the Fort Leney during the week) approaching 2 out, but made a mistake at that and possibly blew up too. He should come on for that and looks a very solid e/w bet.
Other ones I like are Made In Taipan, who has some very high class form (5th in an Arkle), and Voler La Vedette’s sister Princess Gaia in the bumper.
December 31, 2010 at 12:14 #334401€10 e/w Princess Gaia @ 10/1
€1 e/w Yankee:
Blazing Tempo SP
Royal De La Thinte SP
Made In Taipan SP
Princess Gaia SP+ €461.65
December 31, 2010 at 13:34 #334418good stuff THM, lovely win for Royal de la Thinte. I didn’t have a bet but mentioned it to my poor old fatherinlaw who couldn’t buy a winner lately
Just saw him heading out of the Tote there…December 31, 2010 at 13:55 #334420Thanks Diamond, I probably should have backed him on his own myself, but hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Still, if Princess Gaia wins the last there’ll be celebrations
December 31, 2010 at 14:05 #334423I swore I was having a day off today, but I think I might take a plunge now, if she’s anything like Voler….
December 31, 2010 at 14:32 #334425Well it’s a risky enough bet because they think she’s very good but not sure hwta went wrong th elast day, when she was backed from 10s into 4s
. If she runs to what she’s capable of doing at home she’ll be there or there-abouts!December 31, 2010 at 15:07 #334429I’ll be getting stuck into Knockara Beau tomorrow at Cheltenham. One of these days he’ll put his jumping together and it’ll see him hack up in one of these handicaps.

Like the look of Crash, Enterprise Park, Carthalawn and Rivage D’or in Ireland.
