I had a long chat today with someone whose family came from India and has relatives in America ( who support Trump) and it became very apparent that people who are legal immigrants are really angry about illegal immigrants and that probably includes refugees, too.
February 25, 2026 at 17:26 #1756310It’s a pity that “legal” immigrants don’t understand that the government can change their status at any time.
By the way, a lot of Indians are very racist. Racism is not limited to white people.
February 25, 2026 at 17:38 #1756312Or that they use the immigrant debate to get elected when really all they want to do is make their rich friends richer and help their global warming denying backers, too.
February 25, 2026 at 19:14 #1756364None of the other attack lines came anywhere near this for efficacy. So why doesn’t Labour use it? Because that might alienate the people Starmer seems keenest to appease: Labour’s own corporate backers and the billionaire proprietors of the rightwing press. The leadership’s key objective is not stopping Farage, but frightening people into voting Labour. Quite frankly, it has nothing else left.“
This idea of trying to appease those who don’t want to be appeased is ridiculous. Starmer could single handedly cure cancer and effect world peace and the right wing press still wouldn’t write a positive word about him.

There’s plenty of ‘leopards ate my face’ stories from non-white Trump voters, it’ll only get worse.
February 26, 2026 at 00:33 #1756392Just been forwarded this:
How to tell if someone is a RWNJ in three easy steps:
Ask them the following questions:
1. Was the 2022 Liz Truss “mini budget” a failure due to: a) the left wing agenda b) immigrants
2. Is the chronic lack of investment in the UK due to: a) the left wing agenda b) immigrants
3. Is Nigel Farage not getting enough coverage on the BBC due to: a) the left wing agenda b) immigrantsFebruary 26, 2026 at 12:09 #1756407Answer to questions:
1. As Liz Truss is extreme right wing, the answer (of the two) has to be immigrants.
2 As lack on investments in the UK has to be down to people with sufficient money to invest refusing to do so, the answer has to be immigrants.
3 As the BBC is neutral politically (not left wing) the answer again has to be immigrants.
So there you have it as Farage keeps telling us, all the countries ills are due to immigrants.
Strange, isn’t it. This is the same as Jews being the sole cause of Gernany’s ills in Hitler’s Nazi Germany. Obviously, in both cases this is baylocks!
February 26, 2026 at 12:46 #1756410Christ it’s like having the Morning Star delivered to my house every day
By the way that’s meant as humour please don’t take offence
February 26, 2026 at 13:11 #1756412“By the way, a lot of Indians are very racist. Racism is not limited to white people.”
The second sentence is fair enough. But how much of the Indian population do you know well that gave you the opinion that it is a lot?
February 26, 2026 at 13:33 #1756414Again it would only be a small number of town folk, but my late father had to spend time in India WW2 RAF , he always said they were very hard people to get on with spitting at dads crew members and abusing them
That said it was during hard times but they certainly didn’t like old whiteyFebruary 26, 2026 at 13:50 #1756418Everyone has the right to be judged as an individual ….

I did and I replied appropriately.

A lot, given that I am a brown person, although not of Indian origin (unless you go back many generations).

I am a brown person too and am of Indian origin, and it’ll be a very small percentage of the overall Indian community.
