I had a long chat today with someone whose family came from India and has relatives in America ( who support Trump) and it became very apparent that people who are legal immigrants are really angry about illegal immigrants and that probably includes refugees, too.
It’s a pity that “legal” immigrants don’t understand that the government can change their status at any time.
By the way, a lot of Indians are very racist. Racism is not limited to white people.
Or that they use the immigrant debate to get elected when really all they want to do is make their rich friends richer and help their global warming denying backers, too.

This idea of trying to appease those who don’t want to be appeased is ridiculous. Starmer could single handedly cure cancer and effect world peace and the right wing press still wouldn’t write a positive word about him.

The second sentence is fair enough. But how much of the Indian population do you know well that gave you the opinion that it is a lot?
Again it would only be a small number of town folk, but my late father had to spend time in India WW2 RAF , he always said they were very hard people to get on with spitting at dads crew members and abusing them
