Surely the bet of the flat season is coming up on Thursday, PROFOUND BEAUTY in the Yorkshire Oaks, a line through Roses For The Lady gives her a distinct edge over Sariska who in turn holds Midday on several lines of form, a not a single one of this years below average crop of 3-y-Olds has won a group race beyond a mile against older horses this year so we can forget Snow Fairy and Meeznah. Dar Re Mi is out of the race so Profound Beauty looks a shoe in to me, let’s hope there’s some rain in Yorkshire in the next few days.

The ground will dictate the outcome of this years Yorks Oaks as
Sariska
will win if it comes up Soft and
Snow fairy
will win if it was faster,Midday will still get 3rd place which leaves your filly staying on at one pace to finish 4th Chelters! I love your confidence though, you are beginning to sound like me!
We"ll see if you can deliver though!

I’d argue that that particular fact is one that will be overturned eventually – it would be remarkable if it wasn’t – and I think Snow Fairy is the horse with the class to do it.

So don't run, just like the others always do
August 13, 2010 at 21:33 #312663I’m sure Ed Dunlop said on a get on show with Matt Chapman that Snow Fairy would not run, and would run there next year instead, or is that just me?
GET EVERYTHING ON SARISKA!!

The mare will win this and be slashed for the arc.

Take it from me, this mare will win The 2010 Arc, We’ve just re-run her defeat of Age Of Aquarius (again) and then his defeat by Harbinger, I defy anyone to say Harbinger beat AOA more impessively than she did and AOA had the benefit of a previous run. Just watch the way the mare eats up the ground when Johnny Murtagh slips the field on the final bend. Dermot Weld is nobody’s fool, after she swamps The Yorkshire Oaks field there is no way she’ll be going to Oz, she’ll be on her way to Paris. It’s the one race missing from his CV.
I know how highly you rated Age Of Aquarius, I can’t believe someone as astute as yourself can’t see the bleeding obvious when it’s slapping you hard in the face.
TAPK I know your a better judge than that, we can both clean up on Thursday.August 13, 2010 at 23:07 #312675Slightly off thread but not at all really – engendering a bit of form interest for tomorrow-
Profound Beauty’s form ties in to the Geoffrey Freer tomorrow. Not just because the Saptapadi tie up in the Curragh Cup form but through PB’s conquerer there, Tactic, ties in Kite Wood who beat Tactic over this sort of trip last year then beat AOA in the renewal of the Geoffrey Freer last year.
August 14, 2010 at 00:55 #312681sariska all the way. softer the better. not that it will be, but, still cant see anything beating her.
if the ground comes up gd-sft sft in the arc, i can’t personally see her being out of the first 3.
August 14, 2010 at 01:07 #312682Going is Gd to Sft at the moment, and heavy rain is forecast for Tuesday.
Going off-thread, I’m thinking the bet of the meeting is Opinion Poll in the Lonsdale.

Snow Fairy will win this en route to the Arc.
Is that the same Profound Beauty that was going to win the King George this year?

Save your money lads. We’re in a recession.

She didn’t run, did she? So who knows.
Word of warning though…. Gerald says heavy rain is forecast, she wouldn’t want it too softAugust 14, 2010 at 08:55 #312698Slightly off thread but not at all really – engendering a bit of form interest for tomorrow-

I’d take the Tactic form with a huge pinch of salt, Profound Beauty ran well below form that day, was given a very easy ride and was found to be in season after the race.
Also I think you’l find you are getting Age Of Reason confused with Age Of Aquarius, that said I tend to agree with you that Kite Wood looks the one to be on in The GFAugust 14, 2010 at 12:25 #312732dont think snow fairy will run in the arc. she will go st leger.
August 14, 2010 at 15:41 #312755Chelters,the only way to earn respect at anything is "The actions speak louder than words" approach! You have earn"t my respect with your Rite of Passage philosophy! I shall forgive your Profound Beauty will win the Arc statement as over zealous! She will win the Irish St Leger,i keep telling you!

Everyone I knew thought I was completely off my head when I suggested Levmos would win The Arc, a few less laughed when I said the same about Ardross a few years later (OK, He din’t win but was the moral winner) They both came from "The Left Field", he comes another

Problem is the forecast keeps changing, and different sites give slightly different forecasts.
Now seems to be light rain instead of heavy rain, Tuesday morning.
August 17, 2010 at 11:40 #313208Not sure what the fascination is with Profound Beauty, outsider with little chance in this – and now not entered for the race, and zero chance in Melbourne.
Hughes rides the beautiful Snow Fairy

Got home a few minutes ago, and I was too busy sending an email to the Victorian handicapper to get my bet on.
