cue card is streets ahead in this race and should win on all known form
March 9, 2011 at 12:54 #343885Just to update…
Dunraven Storm "if all goes well, he will line up". Straight from the horses mouth so to speak.
March 9, 2011 at 14:04 #343903I see Marsh Warbler has been entered today. Perhaps Koo would be able to confirm whether he is an intended runner in this rather than the Triumph?
March 9, 2011 at 14:16 #343908Just re-watched the International. Anyone else think Cue Card stuck his head in the air a little bit after the last?
March 9, 2011 at 18:57 #343937Thats my worry about CC Tuffers, he looks like a horse that if he is taken off the bridle he doesn’t do a whole lot.

Because in only his third run over hurdles he was readily outpaced in a slowly run race by a horse who has a fair chance of being placed in a Champion Hurdle? I don’t agree but let’s suppose you are right what is there in the formbook which suggests he is going to have to find a great deal off the bridle to beat this lot?
Basically if you want a bet you can either take 9/4 about the outstanding form pick or side with a succession of underpriced hype horses who you are guessing may beat the favourite.
As far as I can see unless Tizzard messes up big time the favourite wins. I think part of the problem for many punters is not wanting to back a short one in the first race of the meeting.
March 9, 2011 at 21:13 #343956Stilvi,
I agree, he may not come off the bridle, there may not be a horse that will be able to get CC off the bit. I am currently looking through the race to see if there is one.
I don’t believe that the form of the International should be taken literally, I dont believe Cue Card is 5lb behind Menorah, not a hope, especially with Silviniaco Conti in such close proximity.

March 9, 2011 at 21:41 #343959I’ve just watched last year’s Champion Bumper and Cue Card’s head was all over the place just after where the last hurdle would have been. It’s possible it was greenness but it’s also possible he’s got a few quirks.

That was only his second ever race and was surely greenness.
Take a look at his first 2 runs this year – no hint of attitude there I reckonI’m with Stilvi with CC as my banker and will be wading in accordingly

It doesn’t seem like attitude as such – almost as though he’s shying away from something but as I said above, to my eye he did exactly the same in the International and he shouldn’t have still been showing greenness in that race.

Cue Card looked to be travelling by far the best in the International, yet was undone by what appeared to be a turn of foot from Menorah. Any horse that makes Menorah look instantly quick isn’t (necessarily) a superstar.
I got caught up in the hype earlier in the season – he’s beaten nothing of note, so it’s the manner of his victories that has impressed rather than the form – but I sincerely believe he’ll be beaten. Henderson’s horses aren’t to be written off; both are a little bit special.

The Neptune is his aim, isn’t it?

I am firmly in the Cue Card camp! I have him quiet some way ahead of his rivals and is the true class act, got him winning this by 6 lengths.
Here is my figures behind The Supreme.

Whether you like CC or want to lay him it looks like Betfair is the place to trade with 25% bonus on all winnings in the Supreme up to £200.
March 10, 2011 at 12:32 #344019Hi Chickiswain
Re 25% bonus, how is that working as surely with the liquidity and % book that will be evident you might be able to back everything and walk away with a profit? Presume they limiting this to one selction for the "bonus" for this reason?
Haven’t got a betfair account so if above seems like a daft question sorry. Was considering opening one for Cheltenham so will now crack on and do this tonight
