That might be as good as Cue Card is, as for the winner, don’t think he is a future Champion Hurdler, but has chaser all over him.

I cant get any handle on the Henderson duo….they drifted all over the place and didnt get up the hill at all. I wouldnt be fans of them for any of next year races

Regarding times, slower than last years Champion Hurdle but faster than last years renewal, makes me more optimistic on my long way punt to be put on Clerks Choice.

Poor ride by Tizzard, should’ve taken a pull on Cue Card got there way too soon. Great ride by Ruby thats why he’s the best there is.

Slow race, Cue Card ran to form because he found a slow pace behind Menorah and couldn’t get into a rhythm just like today.

Not the greatest ride by Tizzard but couldn’t possibly use it as an excuse for Cue Card. The winner has somehow found twenty lengths on last season’s bumper form on ground that should have suited Cue Card better. Sad to say it but it seems as soon as Cue Card comes off the bridle he is beaten and I now wonder if his best days are already behind him. Recession Proof stayed on very well and Rathlin ran very well.

Cue Card wasn’t the greatest ride, but only cost him 3rd at best.

I backed Sprinter Sacre EW and thought he was going to win taking it up – just got outstayed by Al Ferof and Spirit Son.

Nice efforts from the first four – very different horses who could have very different targets next season.

Imo, Cue Card was simply outpaced, much like his previous race, and, knowing the horse essentially needs further, Joe Tizzard had little choice but to make plenty of use of him.
The Champioship Bumper is a pretty stern test for a young horse, and, time and time again, its winners prove to need further.
Way too early to write Cue Card off.

Horses who want a longer trip usually run through the line, a little bit like Al Ferof. If a horse doesn’t fight he is a dodgy punting proposition over any trip. I don’t think Tizzard’s early move had anything to do with stamina, more than likely he was worried about the way Sprinter Sacre was travelling and didn’t want him to pinch three lengths. If he had held on a little longer I am not sure it would have made much difference.

    Not surprisingly, I disagree.
Imo, Cue Card did little wrong yesterday (or lto), just lacked the speed to pick up in the closing stages, and will win plenty of races, given a sufficient test.
