RTV is increasingly becoming a joke. It really needed someone like Lydia Hislop on duty today, not Anthony “I’ve never heard of Night Nurse” Dunkley.

November 10, 2024 at 19:54 #1712406Iam struggling to work out some these trainers , ground was perfect today according to Henderson . The horse makes a mistake but has decent run to next fence to get together , the jockey rides him for 200 or so metres after fence so clearly happy he is not injured , is up with field then pulls up .
They say he wouldnt have won , but he was up with field under minimal pressure at time, not pushed even, are they sure he would not have won if he regathered himself towards pond fence.
Has a punter on jumps race got to factor in that owner multi billionaire and dont need place money ? , if that mistake occurs three out at Cheltenham and he is still with field i assume he must pull up .
He made two iffy jumps in novice chase , not that unusual .November 10, 2024 at 20:00 #1712408Honestly give it 10 years and they’ll have spaces in the fences for horses to walk through and transporters to take them from fence to fence …. He interesting to watch the betting next time he runs …I imagine a week day somewhere much quieter

November 10, 2024 at 20:12 #1712410“Spaces in fences for horses to walk through !!!” , that has cracked me up HDLG
.
My advice dont leave too early to get to Newcastle to see CH run , i can see how that day plays out a mile off .November 10, 2024 at 20:20 #1712412Agree Helcat. Just watched the replay on RTV and the pulling up looks odd. OK, the horse made a poor jump at the last of the railway fences. If that was such an issue, why didn’t De Boinville pull him up straightaway?
Despite the two iffy jumps, he still isn’t travelling that badly and is only just behind the horse that finished second when all of a sudden he is eased off and pulled up. A horse that has drifted from 2/11 to 8/11.
No amount of spin can make it look good. Especially as Henderson is on record as saying the horse was acting like a lunatic when being saddled and the horse was being laid on Betfair.
Of course, you would never know from RTV’s replay. The betting show on that implies he opened at 8/15.

Could have been a foretaste of what is to come in the weeks before Christmas.
November 17, 2024 at 23:21 #1713149Good to see Henderson get a few winners .
However am I the only one who has noticed a few interviews where he refers to a horse as a person . Iam sure a person is a human but will check dictionary . Now today i watched his interview , Pecky Boy . Surely he was talking about the jockey when he said ” i know he thinks 3 will help him ” He didnt refer to the jockey though . He cannot think The Person that being Pecky Boy is thinking ” i really need the step up to 3 next time , i wish Mr Ed was still here to tell Mr Henderson.”. I love horses but they cannot map out a programne to Cheltenham or how to self improve themselves .November 18, 2024 at 04:53 #1713158I think you’ll find he’s been talking to his new assistant…
